I just found this,
Embird will open multiple zips and rar files in Manager. Set your filter to either Zip or Rar. while holding down your right button on your mouse scroll down the list, highlighting all the zip/rar files left click and choose extract zipped files to. A box will open and you can choose where you want them to unzip to. If they were in a folder when they were zipped, they will be in that folder in the top of the right panel on your Embird screen.open the folder you want, NOW you can set your filter to the format you want and left click and move it to the folder you want. If they were not in a folder when the digitizer zipped them they will show in the bottom of the right panel..you can set your filter to your format and and move multiple files to the folder of your choice......I hope this is clear, if you can do this while reading it may make more sense.

I tried 7-Zip and I click on file manager and then the prog. opens and I can highlight all the zipped folders and then click extract and they are all unzipped and then I delete the zip files. (this is a free prog.)
Haven't used Embird, but seems similar.
Good luck.

I have Embird basic, but I have never extracted multiple zipped files at once. I do, however, convert format of multiple files within a folder. After I unzip files I place the designs needing to be converted into a folder named "Convert". In Embird basic you double click to open this folder, then find the convert format option. When you click on this option, a small screen showing different formats will open. Check the format you need, click convert. I find it easier to make separate folder for the different formats I am converting, such as ConvertDST, ConvertRAR, etc. It is easier to find and delete the unwanted format within the folder after conversion, leaving the converted ones of the format I need.
Hope this helps. If there is an easier route, I will be happy to learn. But, this has workded for me.

There is a very inexpensive program called Embroidery Deduper, which will extract designs from zipped folders, remove unwanted formats to a folder of your choosing & keep wanted formats ready for you to file.

Personally, I no longer bother to reformat designs, I just keep either PES, JEF or HUS as Embird will create the correct format required when you use it to send a design to a machine's embroidery card, USB stick or CD.

When you open embird manager click on "Options">"Show">"Show contents of zipped files".
Then you can click on any zipped file when you are in embird manager and it will open it for you.
When you are in explorer Iconizer is not able to show you the icons of the contents of any zipped file unless you EXTRACT it first. So if you want to see the icons of designs that are still zipped up, open explorer and right mouse click on a zipped file and select "extract all". Once you do that iconizer will show the icons of what was in the zipped file for you. If you are using windows 7 dont forget to set the "View" to medium or larger for the icons to show properly.

This is not working for the RAR files

Embird has never opened or iconized the contents of .rar files in embird manager (only .zip).
Download a free program called 7 Zip
from here http://www.7-zip.org/
Open the 7 zip program and navigate to the .rar file and extract it to a folder or desktop, then iconizer will show the ocons for them.
They have two versions available, 32 bit or 64 bit, so make sure you download and install the correct one you need. I like it, it works like a small explorer window, very compact and simple to use.

Well I need to take that back!! embird is indeed opening the rar files for me, what I am noticing is that when I open it nothing is shown in the icon area becuase it opens it in another folder that needs to be opened too.
Click on the rar file to open it and then look at the file tree above, you will notice a new folder appear below the temp folder, just click on it to open it.
