I am 38 but for many years I felt 20.
Now my younger cousin start to have children I feel my age. Weird, no ?
My daughter does not have an account but she does some machine embroidery work on her clothes when she wants something different. On Mother's Day she turned 16. She does some sewing but with school work she is quite busy most of the time. She did learn hand and machine sewing in one of her middle school classes though. She also spends time with her grandmothers during the summers and sews with them.
This is a nice age to do embroidery. Can you imagine what she will achieve by the time she gets to the age of our oldest Cutie?
I turned 57 the end of April. I am feeling much older lately, very worn out and tired and my coughing is out of control. I worry about my next visit to the oncologist at the end of June, just blood work and check up this time, CT scan 3 months later unless she thinks something is going on in me again. It's past 1 a.m. and I think I am going to go to bed, I hear hubby changed the channel to a civil war show and that does not interest me. Need to rest, we cleaned a little in the garage today and I made hotdogs on the new grill, we have to rest every 5 minutes these days.
You should take it easy and look after yourself. Hope you have good news at your next visit to the Oncologist.
Thank you, it is going to be an on going problem for the rest of my life. 50% chance of return with many spots in my lungs.
I suppose there are some members who are under 10-born on 29th February .Are they lucky or unlucky to have a birthday every 4 years ?

67 1/2 young. I went to a museum not too long ago. Amazing how many things were displayed there that I had used. Scary!!!!!!!! Today I went shopping with my daughter. Bought a bunch of patterns at Joane's with the intend to teach the granddaughters how to sew. Sewing, knitting, crochet all that was part of my school curriculum. That was the best thing and taught me a love for all kinds of craft.
Amazing whay our Mothers used when we were kids. Todays children don't know what we talk about.
This was a great question. I did not find it too personal at all. It is only a number after all. It seems the average is about 60 yrs. Just goes to show that the young ones are probably just too busy with bringing up children, working and just getting on with their lives. I actually think the art of sewing, knitting etc is a dying art. Such a terrible shame. Sarah.
Just for the record I am 66 yrs - but I didn't tell you!!
well the young one cant be worrying about sewing as they dont do thing like us any more they only want to sit in font of a computer and play game. my daughter is 28 and said why should she do it when mum can do it for her
Not like us, we sit in front of the computer and check into the Cute sites. My Mother used to do almost everything for me when I was young.
I am 68 years old. I guess we found out there a lot of us out there. Are there any young ones into embroidery?
Great Question in our Group we have a 82 and an 86 year young couple of ladies and im also teaching them to use the computer so they can transfer there own designs over to the USB and cards Got to giggle its easy to teach someone to Machine Embroider even easier with a PC you can always help out over the Phone lol
Good on you. When I started Lace 4 years ago, there was a lady who was 92. She started at 87. Did beautiful work, but has sonce given it away as she will be 97 later this year.
Well, I'll be 59 this year so not in the youngest or the oldest category. Although, like some have said, some days I feel older than others. I do enjoy my quilting and embroidery machines!! I didn't get started until my kids were pretty well grown. I guess that's how the next generation will do it too. I have one daughter that does a lot of scrapbooking and two others that have shown some interest in quilting but they do not really have the time right now. They have both made a quilt but they are pretty busy raising their families. Maybe someone will want my stash and machines when I'm gone. :-)
Young ones are too busy learning about life to do what we do. Wish my Mother was still here she would love the embroidery machine.
My calendar years and my inner years don't match. It is great to be over ?? and feel 25 or 30. I like the inner age much better. Or could I be in my ?? childhood?

41 here. I have a whole new respect for people older than me because I am now starting to feel older. Some back aches, and lack of technology skills. I love learning from my elders and my neice shows me a few things on the computer. I did teach my neice to crochet and make jewelry. I am not the youngest, nor the oldest. But love the site just as much as the rest of our Cuties!!!!! Thanks for asking. ~Carolyn~
Great discussion question to help get to know others.
I just had a birthday a couple of days ago. Yes I am a true Gemini. I am quite surprised that there are so many in their 60's like me. But the best part is that these ladies in their 70's and 80's are enjoying the internet and friends here. Obviously, we all share a common interest in embroidery, sewing and many other crafts.
I fear that crocheting, knitting and a few other needle arts will be a lost art in not too many years. Most young women aren't interested in learning. They are missing a lot. I can be totally exhausted and find such relaxation by picking up a crochet project. In addition to keeping my mind busy it seems I am not satisfied unless I also keep my fingers busy. I can't even watch something on TV without doing something while watching. Does anyone else have that problem? I guess that would come under the addiction heading but for me it is a good addiction.

In my group of friends. I am the only one that has an embroidery machine. The others crochet, knit, quilt and opther craft.
Aren't you the lucky one!! I can't do without at least one embroidery machine. I don't like it when my Brother goes for cleaning even though I have an Amaya. I just can't wait to get it home.

My hubby calls me fidget pants coz I cant sit and just watch the tv must be in the genes as my mum was like that also, I don t think that my girls got that gene
You are right. It must be a gene. I think I got multiple copies of it.

Born Jan 1935 - Up there with some of you for sure but not the oldest !!!! - Age is only a number right, some days you feel older especially I find with all this rainy weather we have been having those aches and pains and especially being stuck in doors - love to feel the sunshine...hugs all x0x0x0
Love being stuck indoors, then I don't feel guilty about sitting at my machine all day.
Good Question.
Today I think I am older than dirt but younger than Methuselah.
Ask me again tomorrow. LOL!!!
Marg, I think it's a bit late for that for me. LOL!!!
Cuties celebrated my big birthday with me so it's on record here somewhere. :-)))
I turned 66 last Saturday the 21at but I know there are older ones
I think I am the youngest one, just turn 16 on May 25th...Oh no.... I was "thinking" backwards I am 61 years young!!!!!!!!
I told my kids that I was 29 until the day they had kids, then I would be 39...now whenever I have greatgrandkids then I will be 49!!!******
As I'm 67 I don't thing I want to reverse that one!!! 70 is close enough the way it is.
I've been 39 for so long I would have to look at my birth certificate to find out!He-He!! :o)
Maybe that is the idea. Start going backwards, but then how do I convience my body?
So far no one is claiming to be the youngest. Surely there are cuties in their 20's?
I am not the oldest "cottonboll" has 20 odd years on me...interesting topic though. Your are only as old as you feel, some days that is really old. Hugs Sally
I agree with you. Some days I feel 150 others as though I am 20 years younger.
I couldn't agree more. Yesterday when I started stripping the wall paper off my dining room I felt 20 years younger, today I feel 150. Tomorrow I have to feel that 20 again and get up on that ladder to get the top half of the room done. I will be 63 on July 20th so I don't know what that makes me...not young not in between...just old maybe? Just glad to be here and still kicking.
Interesting - I found out that I am not the oldest. LOL, and know that I am not the youngest.
I am not the oldest: 78 years next week, cottonboll is oldier, and as cottonboll, I am so happy to meet here much love and friendship
hugs to all

Ok, 47 but am sure there are younger ones, Hugs Lisa

AlmaG.
Neither me! Perhaps another one for later, at what age did the sewing, embroidery bug got hold of you? I can recall sewing paisley bell bottom pants to friends at the age of 13, now paisley is back in fashion.
We talked about this not long ago but I still haven't dragged out my apron that I started at about 5 or 6 years of age.
i can remember my friend's mom showing us how to sew vinyl (pleather now) back in the 60's... how funny to remember.
I'm not sure - maybe Veronika will see this post and let us know! There are some ladies up in the high 70's who are on here. I am not sure about the younger ones though. Love and blessings Chris
Not every one adds their year of birth when the join in or even where they live, which I think is a pity - where they live I mean.
