its still raining here...rivers are high..everything is soggy...last I heard timberline was getting snow...wish it would quite...
That water spout that I mentioned ,turned out to be 3 separate spouts, according to todays local paper.Either I turned off the tv before it happen or channel 7 didn't televise all of it.
You are at Blue Haven ,I'm at Blue Bay
It's been like that here in Newcastle for 2 days now - it's been raining cats and dogs for most of the day!
Because Amy was here and Ophelie at day care centre we went to see The Pirates of the Caribbean new movie in 3D. I just love Johnny Depp. Loved the movie, but I just love any pirate movie.
I think we are going to have another wet day tomorrow too! I'll try and do some sewing tomorrow as I've done absolutely nothing since Saturday.
Thinking of all of you in the wet areas! Love and blessings Chris
Hi Meg, we have also been having horrible weather here in SA. The wind was so strong during the night I thought our house was going to blow away. It is early morning and still too dark to see if there is any damage but already we do not have any water!!!!!!.....
Yes, it has also been windy here, couldn't tell the wind from the rain it was so loud. I was about to say it seems to have stopped raining but it just started again. 12:35 AM Wednesday.
At least we had a couple of hours break.
Hugs, Meg
It is still raining hard here ,my internet usb stick doesn't seem to enjoy the heavy rain-it won't connect during heavy rain.Did you see the water spout off Avoca (NSW)yesterday morning ?It was live from channel 7 helicopter .It was amazing to see because its only 7 beaches south of here .I got to see it because I was setting up the TV for automatic recording & the tv was on channel 7 .
Yes I saw that on the net, wasn't it amazing?
So where are you? I'm at Blue Haven just now, going back to Penrith tomorrow but will be living here as soon as we finalise MIL's house.
You could come and join in when we start having our Cutie get-togethers when I finally move here.
Oh NO! Not your new place. Prayers and hugs. We're getting way too much rain here too. Today we broke the record for the wettest May since they were keeping records in Utah. We still have the top of the mountains snow pack to melt. Several of rivers are flooding, the Great Salt Lake is swelling fast. This is the 50 year flood year. The last big floods we had were in the 80s, this may be even worse.
Yes we have also broken a few rain records here since April. We had a King tide and then the wettest April day on record and the water came up over the embankment onto all our properties.
Didn't do any damage other than shift our half logs from under the fence and almost took them into the river.
Ray wasn't very impressed as he had only just put them all there to stop the dog digging out under the fence.
I would hate to be in a place where you have the added worry of the annual thaw. I certainly hope it isn't as bad as predicted, but then the predictions for Queensland turned out to be way UNDER estimated. The whole worlds weather is so unpredictable, it is terrifying. I will pray for you all.
Hugs n blessings, Meg
Thinking of you and hope things are getting better. We still have tons of snow on the mountains and things are starting to flood with all the rain (and not far from us,SNOW yet!)Spring has been so late this year and it was still just 3 degrees centigrade this morning!
Hugs, Nadyne
Boy I won't complain about the cold then, it isn't that bad yet and we are into our first day of winter. Still I think it's going to be a very cold winter this year.
hugs n blessings, Meganne
Time to get the flippers and snorkel out eh! We had 50ml yesterday to 9am this morn. Alll the water is running into here from Aussiequilters place i am sure. heheheheeee
I saw on Yahoo that parts of Sydney were under water, cars being trapped in it and all. This is so ridiculous!
raining cats and dogs here to Meganne, its good to be in the mountains , no chance of flooding here.
Keep safe
Monika
I guess your right about snow ,I think I would like that though, I have never seen snow lol
Have not heard from you for a while and was getting worried. Nice to know you are still around Please stay safe
hugs Raels
OH I'm still here Raels, just too busy to spend as much time at Cut as I would like to. Maybe when things settle down.
hugs and blessings, Meg
PS, totally green with envy of your Bali holiday. :-0
HELLO Cute Family...I just had the PERFECT weekend. Was in the 60's & 70's and I slept for 10 HOURS last nite. Came home to 2 inches of rain and 90 degrees temp with Sun/Humidity. I hope YOU don't FLOAT away. Prayers, but ESPECIALLY HUGS to YOU & Ray.
Hi, Meganne! I will pray that all that wonderful rain you don't need, will find its way to the deep South! Here in Georgia (USA), we are in a drought with the grass turning brown and leaves on the trees looking wilted. Other southern states have
had lots of rain with flooding, but we have had only a couple of very light showers in several months now.
So true that we are more fortunate than many, so should strive to see our blessings, inspite of our situations! Put your feet up, rest, and enjoy your homemade bread!! After all the house restorations, you need a break! LOL
Angel
We know all about drought here in Aus, we've just come off one of our worst droughts, now we have too much rain.
It sure is a funny old world in which we live.
I'll see if I can pray some of the rain to head up north to ya'll in Georgia. :-)))
The bread was yummy, it's all gone and I'm now baking a loaf of sour dough rye.
I'm tempted to stay up until it's cooked so I can get stuck into it. :-))
Oh dear, that is scary for you, I would be too. We just have no control over the weather. I hope it stops soon!! Warm (hugs)to you.
I hope it stops raining and your river won't rise any further!
Can you send some our way?
We haven't had enough rain the last two months. They even have to water dikes as cracks are developing which might eventually lead to them breaking and flooding the 'polders', the below sea level areas, they are supposed to protect.
I have to admit, I would be terrified living below sea level, though I think none of us are safe when Mother Nature turns on her worst behaviour.
hugs n blessings, Meganne
Dear Meganne,
I hope that the rain stops and you are safe in your new home. Here we had it hot today (about 86°F/ 30°C - blue sky and sunshine) and all the farmers hope for a little bit of rain. Will think on you...
Greetings, Bettina
Stay safe and be sure to get to higher ground if it gets too high. Hugs and ✿'s
We also live on a river, the Cumberland River. It has certainly been high as we have had alot of rain this month. We've had a couple of days here lately with no rain. It has taken this opportunity to get hot. You stay safe and evacuate if you have to.
