This is just beautiful. I haven't done much cross stitch because it is so time consuming. I admire you for putting so much into it.
You did such a beautiful job. I am sure it will be treasured for years.

SUPER Job Lillian. Was this a counted x-stitch? I used to love watching the theme slowly appear as one works on it, but the hours one spends on it are uncountable.
Yes this was counted cross stitch. started with blank 14 count aida & yes the hrs spent are uncountable. I just keep on keeping on 'till it's done little by little./Lillian
Just beautiful! I love counted cross stitch. I used to do it for hours on end. My husband would want dinner and I would say just a couple more stitches. I haven't done it in a few years since my eyesight changed. Would love to get back into it. Maybe I should try one of those magnifying glasses.
I cannot see to do it without the mag. glass. it hangs on a cord around your neck & kinda sits on your chest & extends over the hoop at just the right angle for you to look through & work under it. thank you./Lillian
This is beautiful. My husband does counted cross stitch and he also does beautiful work, you would never think it was done by a man. The back looks as good as the front on his. Something I could never do.
Now Joanne, this comment is for design Crazy who is an Alabama girl. Post some of your work my dear girl. counted cross stitch is something to be proud of. I know yours would be beautiful./Lillian
Lillian, I know how much work goes into something like this because I did counted cross stitch before getting my emb. machine. I have several that I've done, one is a Thomas Kinkade and it's solid stitches. Maybe I'll post pics sometime. Your's is very pretty!
Ahh yes grandmother taught me yrs ago when I was just learning how to embroider cross stitch designs on feed sack dish towels, "It must look as nice on back as it does on front" she would say. You should post some of your hubby's work/Lillian
WOW, Miss Lill, this is sooooo pretty! I haven't done any hand work in a very long time. This reminds me of how much I loved doing it.;)
It gets more & more difficult for me Jerrilyn. cannot see it real well & I've got where my hands cramp but the same thing happens with quilting, I just work it out & keep going. Have done some for ea. of my girls with a quilt pictured, hanging on a line or back of a chair, I do love to cross stitch & hate to give it up./Lillian
OMG!!!!! What a lot of work, it is just beautiful. *4U. Marg
I also love doing x stitch but since having an embroidery machine, it has taken over!!! Your x stitch is beautiful - a work of art. Please post again when framed. Sarah.
This is really lovely. Have you already started your next project?
I've just bought an LED head torch to wear while I am cross stitching. It makes a huge difference! I've also seen magnifying specs with LEDs mounted in the frame but they were more expensive.
Thank you Sue.Right I'm more inclined to start another quilt, but I am also crocheting booties for the little one. I'm also getting way behind in yard work. LOL Just not enough time in the day.
that's not true, I don't cross stitch, but I do know the hours & hours that go into a project like this! I can't do it, but I love XS & I think you did a wonderful job!
bellissimoooo ti volevo chiedere ma lo hai fatto a mano oppure a macchina? qualunque sia la risposta il risultato non cambia bello....
You did beautiful job. I am so glad you are framing it. It will be gorgeous on the wall.
Beautiful!! You have more patience than I have. Do you frame them your self or have professionally done?
Kay I usually take them to my daughter who works at Hobby Lobby & get her to do them for me there. Thank You/Lillian Do you remember the one I posted of the Biltmore House ? Got a Blue ribbon at the fair with that one./Lillian
Stunning work Lillian - great title of coarse - fell so real - *4U
You have more patience than I my friend, I cannot see well enough to do cross stitch any more but really love the look of it. You have done a wonderful job thanks for sharing
I have to have a good light & I have a magnifying glass that hangs around my neck. In fact I have 2 of them but only wear 1 at the time. My mom did a lot of cross stitch when she was living. She always did her Christmas cards in cross stitch. I learned to love it from her/Lillian
this is delightful only a cross stitcher knows the hours and hours of work that go into works likethis....soozie
