When your project is dry, Rub it with Talcum Powder leave for a while then brush it off, its works on most oil stains...I have a tin in my craft room use it all the time. I guess it works like chalk sort of.. and cheap....Hugs Sally

I would try Washing up liquid, rubbing it well. I have used it in the past to remove oil stains from tee shirts with good success,

Please let us know how you get on with it, it should work although the side of your thumbs may get sore from scrubbing the fabric. Good Luck

Its really important that you don't dry the fabric until the stain is removed or you might set it in.

I've done this in the past: Put some dish soap/dishwashing liquid (Morning Fresh for example) onto the stain & work it in, then soak the item in a bowl/bucket by itself in the hottest water the fabric can stand for about 20 minutes then rinse in warm running water. If the stain is still there repeat the dish soap treatment until it's gone. Another alternative if you can get it is to use Sard's Wonder Soap and treat the stain the same way (working the soap into the stain and soaking in warm/hot water). Sard's Wonder Soap is a block of stain treatment soap in the laundry lane of the supermarket (Coles, Woollies etc), in case you don't have some and want to keep some on hand in case there's a next time. Oh, and how do I know? lol I also oiled my machine's foot (well the walking foot anyway) and it dripped onto my fabric while I was sewing.

Nappisan should have worked if you made a paste with it and left it on for a while before washing, but generally soaking in nappisan hasn't removed cooking oil etc from our clothing by just soaking the items (in my experience anyway - however its great for nappies & socks lol). We also have a product similar to Oxy Clean here but its called Oxy Active (made by Supreme, in a blue container like the Nappisan one and probably next to the Nappisan and Sard Wonder Soap in the laundry lane - however I think I got it at one of those discount shops like Red Dot or Crazy Clarks as it has a $3.99 price sticker on it).

Sorry for such a long-winded answer but I feel your pain and hope one of these methods works for you. Good luck :)
