I would also assume it depends on how many layers of what weight of tear/cut away you use, and how dense the design is. I mostly use tear away because I can tear right to the desing (very carefully) and more open designs I can tear little pieces out with tweesers so it will be softer. With either tear or cut away, you still have the staabilizer uner the stitches, where as WWS, you guessed it, washes out. Hope that helps some, but as mops said, try on scrap fabric, always best. *4U
Thankyou all, I usually use Freezer Bags as they Iron away but was told that it would look a lot better if I used the tearaway. I have so will go back to my freezer bags. *4u all
I'm sorry for you it did not turn out as you intended. As a rule how thicker the material the thinner the stabiliser, but as you noticed it does not always give the required result. It's always best to try out on a spare bit first.
Hi wendymay, it depends what kind of tear away you use, some will go a little softer but mostly it stays the same. Have you tried using water soluable instead of tear-away? Depending on what you are doing! It does make a difference. bigdee
