still did not want to play nice, so I did something rather extravagant and went and bought a new computer. I feel a bit guilty because I should have just fixed the old one but the new one runs my digitising software much faster. But I now have to set it all up (groan).

Don't feel guilty - you deserve it. I am sure that you will soon have everything set up. It is good to spoil ourselves every now and again. Sarah.

Well done Alice - what sort of new computer did you buy? I have a wonderful Hewlett Packard touch screen. I love it! Love Chris

Chris it is a HP pavillion somewhat more gutsy than my old pc. Not a touch screen, I have enough trouble with my finger prints all over my embroidery machine screens and my iphone. lol.

Sometimes it is easier and less expensive (depending on the part that needs to be fixed and if that is the only thing that needs to be fixed) to get a new one than try to fix an old one. Don't feel guilty - you make your living using a computer so you need one that will be very reliable for you.

I feel a bit guilty because I could have fixed the old one, I think, I even think I have a spare graphics card, and I was a little cryptic with my husband when I told him what the problem was, he doesn't really understand tech speak and I think I made it sound more complicated than it was. My old computer was only 18 months old. I am pleased with the new one though because it runs the graphics heaps faster which means that I get things done quicker.
