Alot of times an off outline is because your hoop allowed your fabric to slip. This is especially true of large designs. Next time pin, glue, baste or use sticky stabilizer to hold your fabric secure to your hoop. Make sure your hoop is nice and snug, too. Hopefully this will help.
well that was a clear as mud. Next time pin, glue, or baste your fabric to your stabilizer in the hoop. Sticky stabilizer is a good choice to keep the fabric tight too.
Bikermom, Does your software allow you to group and ungroup? If so select all, then ungroup, then click on the border and drag it over a bit. I have had some designs I could fix and some I couldn't. It's aggravating.
I can't offer anythig new. On some designs I've had to seperate the design on Embird and put everythig back together color by color. I also have a jar full of every Sharpie color available and use often.
Please don't say you just have 4D. Have you taken any classes for it. I just went to a class yesterday, and yes you can fix this problem with 4D. I don't know how yet, but I am amazed at what you can do with this software if you know how to use it. I have had mine for about 6 mo. and am just now starting the classes.
Bikermom , I have had the same problem but I think you have gotten good answers allready . ( the ones I would have given ) A flower for you.
I too have had some trouble and used the marker pen to correct. Prevention however is as stated: the right stabiliser and tightening the hoop real good. A tip someone once gave me is to put a bit of two-sided sticky tape underneath the inner ring. That prevents the material from slipping especially in larger hoops. Don't use fresh tape on towels! Flower for you.
bikermomfl, what I usually do - has been suggested - so here - *4U
Wow, I have been told earlier about the colored sharpies, never heard of the understabilization tho. Ques: why would it not affect the whole design instead of jus the outline?!?! *4all
I have used a marker before, but I used the one that is made for marking on guilt Labels it was quite quite fine tipped though. but it did do the job.Hope you got the help you needed here with all these tips.flower and warm hugs to you.
You make "guilt" labels? I try to just stick to "quilt" labels! lol.. sorry, couldn't pass that one up *4U dearie
Hi Bikermom... I have found that some designs are just terribly digitized. You definitely get what you pay for. I have however found that the designs on CUTE are fabulously done! And you can't beat the price!
This has happened to us all. I have found sometimes that my hoop was not tight enough and it slipped off some time. I was at a demo once and the instructor suggested that you get colored sharpie permanent markers and go around the outline - especially if it is dark, as most are black. I was in Joann's and they actually sold a set of these in different colors in the quilt section for some odd reason. I got them, and have used that on a couple to save the designs. Get the fine tipped ones and try a small section. Hope it works for you. jrob and pat also stated the stabilizer could have been the problems. Good luck with this.
pat71896 said the same thing I would. I have had that problem. I also have had just poorly digitized designs that I was unable to save....poor little guys got dumped. ;(
Bikermo Do u have any software that allows u to edit designs? If u do you can fix it that way. I use Embird & can edit designs & fix flaws such as that.
I only have 4d Embroidery which is kinda bare bones. I can adjust sizes colors etch add letters but not sure if I can do that, i'll have to give it a try. Thanks bunches.
Oh no, don't say bare bones, I was going to purchase that this next week. Oh no.
This is (almost always) a result of under stabilization. I have had this problem before and was told to stabilize more.
thanks I'll try anything, these birds are beautiful, parrot, macaw and cockatoo, got them on a foreign site recommended here but everything was in Italian I think but they are beautiful, thanks for the help, flower for you
