Good information for all the newer cuties. I treat my machine knowing it isn't an industrial machine and let it cool down between designs.
BEV.i HAVE WORE THE HEADS OFF OR OUT OF 2 of singers best machines.I ran them 12 to 14 hours non stop. Now i am not so crazy lol because that cost money big time BUT NOW i have learned from repair men that they need a drink of oil every few days if i run them this much. They showed me some oil points plus i always watch how/what they do to them (they agreed to this)as i live so far away . now i run my husq. about 2 hours rest it one then another two ,the Brother seems to be built better then most ,it can run longer and the repair man helps me .Right now it needs him as i knocked a part off it and don't know were it goes.lol carolyn
Thanks for asking this. I was thinking about this, now I have my answer. Thanks. DeVon
Bev, when I was stitching more regularly - I would use my machine alot - stitch one thing - go to another - now I have two machines - I try to stagger then - so I am not changing thread or bobbins at the same time - so I can do something else in the room - I do believe I have worked mine - for eight hours with just thread and bobbins changes - but I so love working with FSL - some do not. I bet you will have your doily done and posted before most of us even get to read this - Hehehe!
I think my machine can run much longer than I can. I am the one who needs the break. I manage about 3-4 hours at my best and I have to take a break to rest my spine. Have fun stitching.
It's always fun to stitch, especially when things work like they should. I have had some days where it is best to give up and try again later. But we have all been there one time or another.
Depending on the project and how much time and what size of the design I am doing. I have known myself to run my machines up to ten hours straight, stopping only to eat or drink. And since I babysit my machines, I usually serf the net, read or create the next project, I plan to stitch out. And I do only fsl designs. That is just me and I am hook. Oh I do stop my machines after so many stitchings and give it a good cleaning out so lint won't build up.
Happy stitching and hope you upload a picture of the beautiful item you are stitching out.

I'm actually stitching the doiley Carolyn made, the orange one. She told me to make my own. LOL. So I am. i also won't leave my machine to stitch alone, something always happens
Bev
I feel the same way. If I didn't know better, I would think the machine knows when you are not looking. I don't mind it because to watch lace stitch out is still amazing to me after four years. And I just know your doily is going to be as beautiful as Carolyn's were. And orange is such a great color. Have Fun

Hi Bev
The longest I ran mine was last Sunday I
run 8 parts of 35,000 stitches took 56 mins each and 8 parts of 10,000 stitches which took 16 mins each, think I had a couple of thread breaks, but otherwise I started 8am and finally finished around 11 pm, given coffee breaks ect...
My pr600 run like a dream I love her to bits lol..
And I have still not sewn all the segments together yet.. think that's my project for this weekend lol.
Big hugs from London

Sounds like you have a good machine there. I only have one hoop of each size so mine gets a break while I re-hoop. I so believe some machines are more durable than others.
I have 2 of each size hoop and 3 of the 5x7 and the 4x4.. so I can have the next item hooped ready to go lol..
I am currently doing school uniform for my kids ready for the new term in the summer lol..got to think ahead as i really want to try and fit a holiday in lol
Big hugs from London
