Heat waves in US and freezing here in sunny Queensland, Australia. It was so cold today I thought it might snow. ( it never snows in Brisbane, I mean NEVER), but it was really cold today!

it was 12 degrees centigrade here yesterday, which I know is not freezing but it is for us. It is a degree or two warmer today, but still cold.

Today was a cold day! I went to school and everyone was talking about the weather :) Keep warm :)

Winter has certainly arrived in Taranaki, New Zealand too. It has been very wet and freezing cold today. I am so over winter already and it's just starting... I shouldn't complain, we have a fire going and the house is lovely and warm.

Hi Alice, as you know we are also having the most unusal weather. The whole of SA is very cold with some terrible flooding in some parts. We are now drying out a bit here at home. Just keep warm. Sarah.

I live in Sydney. Up until about ten days ago, there was an even mix of people wearing summer clothing and those wearing winter clothing. This week, I see more winter clothing appearing though. Funny thing is - my daughter and I were out yesterday and it was chilly. She wore layers of clothing, including a coat and scarf as well as Ugg boots. I wore one layer (a long sleeved shirt) and a light jumper, yet we saw people dressed in shorts and a singlet with thongs!! It is amazing how different people can endure different variations of temperature. As for me - I do not like the extreme heat and humidity. I prefer winter, which tends to be very mild here in Sydney.

It is very interesting, I hate the cold and my husband hates the heat. It causes some conflict about where we should live when we retire. We should probably have discussed that before we got married. lol.

You poor thing Alice, Just be thankful that you don't live in the Adelaide hills or even up north of Adelaide.

Is it cold there at the moment?

Alice i just got off the phone from 2 daughters in Brissy and they said it was soooooo cold, Told them to move back to Sydney where it is quite pleasant "at the moment" Hope it warms up by the time i come up in July/Aug :)

Ahh! but it won't be pleasant in Sydney for long Pauline. We have just had a couple of cold days and we will probably only have a couple more before the end of winter.

so sorry it is freezing - we had snow last week - now all this heat.

I should not complain Shirlene, there are far worse weather conditions going on around the world. But I don't like the cold.

Freezing cold in the UK too brrrrrrrr. son coming from Australia tomorrow. Hope it improves. Forecast saturday evening 5 degrees nearly a frost and it is supposed to be summer lol.
