Occasionally I use spray starch, but only to give body to a flimsy cotton and I iron it dry, then put tear away underneath. Otherwise 505 and tear away. Flower for you.
Very interesting Have not tried it & will be interested in what works.
Spray starch is just fine "if you iron or allow it dry before stitching". Sewing wet starch will give you more trouble than you can imagine. Once it is dry is another story.
i also use 505 spray , and on t-shirts I put left overs os WS in warm water, and use it on t-shirt to give them more body, seems to work well.
Hmmm, that sounds interesting. I've never tried it. I'm thinking it might work with cotton if you ironed it until dry. I use KK200, but sometimes it is annoying to go outside to spray. Let us know what you discover.;)
I have not used it on the stabilizer, but do use something called magic sizing when I am going to do pillow cases - just to give it extra body. I spray wait a while, and then iron prior to embroidery. I have actually used this method without stabilizer, but have to be careful to make sure design is not to dense.
I haven't heard of this. I use 505 and it doesn't gunk up my machine. Occasionally I use Clover Adhesive Stick. It doesn't work as well as 505 but there is no odor.
Auntbaba, I'm not sure about that. I have the spray adhesive & use it very occasionally because I'm so sensitive to the smell. I recently bought some Wet & stick by Floriani, when it's wet it activates starch, which then sticks to the material. So, maybe it's a special kind of starch that's made to do this? Somebody else here will know, I'm sure, then we'll both know, hee hee hee.
and possibly harm the machine? I have been using the 505 temporary fabric adhesive which supposedly does not gum up the needles.
