I need some Cutie help and I know you all will not fail me. I have a red and cream plaid blanket that I want to embroider on but need some suggestions on designs. I've drawn a blank.

celticlady, perhaps an applique - the design on fabric then appliqued onto the blanket - so that it would be contrasting - only because the plaid my take away from the design - ask me how I know. Hehehe! *4U

What is your DD's BF interested in? Any specific sport or activity ie computers, paint? Maybe a few of those designs.. something he likes would be nice on it. Maybe his name in chinese characters too so it kinda matches hers?!

I thought of the chinese characters but they don't live together. He isn't into sports all that much. Maybe now my design delema is more understandable.

Well, I'm not sure what it is that you are going to use it for.....That might make a difference in suggestions. Do you want alot of designs or just a central one? How about a contrasting color (Dk Brown or Black) and put as large as you can make it, your initial either on the corner or center. Do you take it to sporting events? A Mascot or to the beach? That's usually my first step in coming up with a design. Try printing out your designs in gray only and use colors to color it with until it becomes what you want.;)

Thanks jrob. I's for my DD BF. Hers is same solid red with black chinese dragon and her name in chinese characters. I think I'm going to do his with his initial in the center and a paisley design all around it. Got the initial idea from you.

If I don't like it I can always keep it for myself since we have the same initial. Not that red will go in my house.

I guess this would depend on the size of the plaid. If large enough, you could embroider in one of the colors - or try applique. Bet that would stand out.

I was thinking of using the red or cream for the design. I just don't have a clue as to a design type. Maybe paisley? Thanks and *4U
