I always have to go into my Mac side of my computer to see the files on Stitch Buddy, make a folder of what I want to put on my floppies or card and then go to the windows side of my computer to copy them. Working on windows is like working blind for me. How so you actually see your files?

I saw this link for a free program to view embroidery files and wondered if anyone has tried it. http://buzzxplore.software.inform...
Thanks, Jan a Mac user since 1982

Hi hightechgrammy I just saw your question you asked 20 days ago. I use a free program called My Editor. You can download it free from here
http://www.wingsxp.com/index.php/...
You can change designs from one format to another as well as change colors. There are more things you can do with the design as well I just have never gotten further than changing colors or formats.

My mother and I both sprung for an inexpensive program called SewCat (short for Sewing Catalog, I'm sure). They have a free demo to download. The software does a good job and was cheap! :-)

Wow! Thanks for all your answers. I have lots of things to explore now! It looks like you have turned on the light for me, and I don't have to work Blind on my windows side of my computer! Thank YOU!

I use embird basic + iconizer (that now works with Windoes 7 64 bit) and I also have AnnTheGran's Catalog Xpress (which is just like the Buzz Tools cataloging software). The Embird solution allows you to see the designs in the regular windows explorer. The Buzz or ATG tool allows you to import pictures from the images and sort them however you like in the software.

I use Buzztools and have since cave men I think HA. It is just awesome, I was viewing my designs in icon form one at a time for a long time then Buzztools catalog came along and I could view them a whole folder a time plus convert entire CDs I think I cried I use JEF and nearly everthing came in PES back then or SEW for Janome machines. Then I upgraded to Buzztools plus v4 and was even more excited. I could open a folder convert even delte dplicates and or send the design to a mini version of Buzzedit. But if your going to spend the money it has to be Buzzxplorer!! it will create little thumb nails and place them in your folders so you never have to use seperate software to view them it has all of the right click features of an open "window" such as copying moving deleting you can drag and drop and open in your chose of softwares it will create folders for you plus you can go though your unsorted folder (we all have one or even more HA) place them in the collector bar below and send them to a special folder plus has all of the links to Buzzedit and buzzsize minis
The main feature you would have best serving you is the making of the graphic thumbnails or icons to put with your designs so you never have to have software to view the designs again.

Hi, Jan,
I use Embird basic with its Iconizer plug-in to view all my files within folders as full color
designs and pertinent info pertaining to each design. Such a bargain for all the features!! Love it!

Hi Jan, I tried the trial. There are several features I did not have time to fiddle with, and you can purchase upgrades so you can increase the capacity and features. The trial is the basic level and is good for 21 days; it gives you a good idea of its usefulness. I liked it, but have not decided yet, as I am wondering what else I want to do with designs, embroidery and digitizing, etc. The Wilcom free program is a good for me right now. I can look at the designs and I can alter them in size and number of stitches. I can also reformat them into the format my Brother likes! Hugs, ro

I use Embird Iconizer...it's great. You can see pics of files in the folders without opening the folder...I think you can get the Iconizer program without investing in the actual Embird Editing program...

Once you have extracted the files, placed them in folders, click on any file and it will open in a new window. At the top right side of this window, next to: include in library, are four tiny squares with a down pointer- click on this down arrow and a small window will open with choices of how to view the images; use the slider and, voila!
Now you can cut out a step and save the files directly in windows...

I use Wilcom Trusizer a bit like windows explorer - you can see a thumbnail of the design before opening it so you can scan though folder after folder. I can transfer files to my memory card for my machine through it as well. I know lots of people use a programme so they can see thumbnails in "my computer" but it seems uneccessary to me. I'm trying to keep my new PC free from half useful software!
