Can one use the Vilene type WSS as topper for towels or does it have to be the clear type? Thanks guys for being here to answer my question.

Thanks for asking - all I have ever used is the clear film type (Solvy).

I thought I would ask, since all I ever read was to use the film type WSS. Now since I plan to use them myself I will try it.

I don't see why not but i have never tried it. My motto is use what you got. Sometimes it works sometimes not but i don't know until I try.

Angie, I have used it - but it does need to be washed after stitching - it holds up really well - and I like to use up some of my scrapes that way, but when giving as a gift - it is harder to do - because of the washing.

I don't mind the washing since I am planning to embroider some towels for myself and have a lots of Vilene scraps. Thanks for your answer

I used it once it really needs to have a good washing to remove from a towel. with the clear it is just a light misting. But it can be used, I personaly didn't like it.

Thank you. I don't think I will use it when embroidering a gift.
