I've been to her school in Huntsville twice & love it. She is a great gal! She goes to church with our daughter & my daughter laughed & said we talk & act just alike! I'm not sure that's a compliment for Martha! I have made a baby dedication dress for our upcoming grandbaby for the Nov. dedication at their church. Put Martha's designs from her IEC this year. I am going to see if I can get a pic of her holding the baby, but would have to ask her if I can upload it here. If you go to the school in Huntsville, let us know far enough ahead so maybe several of us can go!! It sounds costly, but since you get all your kits, your meals & gifts & wonderful classes, it's not really! Keep us posted on YOUR plans!!
It sounds like it was wonderful and you had a great time! How lucky for you! Now you just have to wait till your feet reach the ground again LOL Charlotte :-)
I haven't had the privilege to meet her, but I do subscribe to Sew Beautiful(10 years now), the magazine she started many, many years ago. Look back if you can at a posting in projects of my grand-daughters Dedication gown. I emb EVERYTHING by hand and did all the heirloom sewing techniques.I am not as happy with the mag. as I once was, it tends at times to get away from the heirloom and go more "trendy" might be the word, but I am not sure if Martha may have someone else take over. Anyway, I've kept my subscription updated on the chance of getting more heirloom. I enjoy making baby clothing, that is my passion. I am glad you were blessed with a meeting and Beth Moore inspires me (not to sew)._Toogie
Like many other American cuties I also have watched many of her educational programs and she does amazing detailed delicate work. It must have been a joy to meet with her.
Sounds like you had a great time - when will you be sharing some of the things that you learned?
Alice, try googling her on the internet. I believe you can purchase her products through her website. Also check out her magazine 'Sew Beautiful' And it is a perfect adjective. The projects are truly beautiful. Glad you had a wonderful time and met a wonderful lady.
I have not met Martha Pullen. The closest I've gotten is T.V. She does do marvelous work. I would love to get into heirloom sewing but it will never happen. I just listen and try to gather information that MAYBE I'll retain, should I ever do something in that area. Glad for you! Good luck on your trip next year!
So glad you got to met Martha Pullen. I got to go to
Arlington,Tx many years ago to one of her seminars. She truly is an inspirational speaker and makes you think you can do anything. Since GD is 18 I am no longer doing heirloom sewing. Martha is from the Huntsville area in Ala. and I am from Mobile,Al near the Gulf of Mexico. She had 100's of venders at Arlington and it has grown over the years. It is usually in June each year. Please come to USA and enjoy! Maureen
She really does make you feel like you can do anything, and what a sense of humour. I don't do any heirloom sewing at all, but she was talking a lot about home businesses. She gave me some very good advice and encouragement.
Alice...I am so excited for you.....I can feel your enthusiasm all the way over here and it is awesome!! We all need someone in our lives to aspire to and what a wonderful choice you have made!
Hugs to you....Vicki
Vicki, have you met Martha? you live closer to her than I do. She is awesome! If you did not meet her already, do anything you can to get the chance to meet her.
No, Alice, I have not met her, I don't even know her home state nor did I know she did traveling shows, will look up to see what her scheduling is.......
She is from Alabama. She has a tv show that evidently screens on public tv in the US.I don't know about "travelling shows" she came to Australia by invitation from Echidna sewing products, which is my local embroidery supplier. Great Weekend.
So pleased that you had a good time. Amazing to meet Martha Pullen.
Sarah, have you met her, I am not the kind of person to be hero worshipping, but I was so inspired by this lady, she was on the stage and so so funny and then I spoke to her....twice, she made me feel so special. She is my hero.
