I have embroidered on this. The thickness I have used was/is 1/16". It is said that 1/32" is too thin and may break apart. *4U and Happy 1000 my dear

Balsa wood is a very soft lightweight wood. You can get it in craft/hobby shops, especially for making models as it is easy to shape. And Thor Heyerdahl once made a raft to carry him from Ecuador across the Pacific. As Jrob wrote it has been mentioned before so have a look.

brendaleas. Go back on the project pages and there are descriptions of thickness (very thin) and I believe it also lists some Hobby shops that sell remote control airplanes where you can buy the wood.;)
