I have both an Ellegante and an Elissimo. I use Neb bobbins for prewound as I was instructed to. I don't have good support for my machines where we are now so I tend to be very careful now. For FSL, I do wind my matching bobbin thread.

I just went to a class on my Babylock Ellageo Plus machine & was told to be sure & use your bobbin case with the purple dot in the bottom if you use pre-wound bobbins. I myself do not use pre-wound bobbins. Instead I went to Wal-Mart & purchased many bobbins that fit my machine & a plastic case that holds about 24 bobbins. I wind all my bobbins half with embroidery bobbin thread & the other half with my cotton sewing thread by Coats & Clark for my quilt sewing projects. That way I don't have to stop & wind a bobbin when I am doing a project.

I did read in the book about the special bobbin case and pin and FINALLY noticed it's an L bobbin. I have used threadart bobbing thread but, if my math is right, the prewounds may be just as cheap or cheaper and handy. What kind of bobbin thread do you use? The regular white embroidery thread is cheaper than bobbin thread I've used, I thought, since you use it in the bobbin when you make FSL, it should work as bobbin thread anytime. Maybe it would be too bulky underneath. Any thoughts on this?

I have brothers - which are twins to babylocks - and I use the MetroEmb.com plastic prewounds with no troubles at all. I have a PE780 and a Quattro (tThe Ellisimo twin)

I use the L with the bobbin pins in my machines.

I did see that in my Ellageo book. Not real sure what the separate bobbin does, the pin raises it up I guess?? My dealer said to only use that Whisper soft bobbin thread but that stuff is crazy expensive.

The pin does raise it up so it makes it tall like a regular babylock bobbin - it makes it sit right in the bobbin case so it works well.
