Anyone own Bernina/Bernette Deco 600 emb. machine? Do you have a software program that lets you write designs to a rewriteable card? Is PE Basic program compatible w/this machine? Thank you.

I live in South Africa and have a Bernina Deco 600. I bought it nearly 3 years ago second hand. For ages I just used the Bernina Cards (very expensive for what is on them). As I did more embroidery and got better I realised that I needed something more. My DH bought me a magic box just over a year ago and I have not looked back. I will be surprised if you manage to get a Magic Box without the card. The blank card has no number on it. Card #1 is the Alpha card. Send me a private message if I can help in any way. Sarah.

answering myownself...I discovered the PED Basic software, card & writer will accomplish my needs. Thanks to all for help.

I do think you will need a Magic Box. And blank card. That's what I use with the 330. Pain in the butt to install. But easy to use after that. I'll send you more info by email.

I had one and used a Magic Box so I could use designs from sources other than the ones already on the expensive cards. I had to buy a blank card to put the designs on but it worked out well. Don't know if this will help you but might be something to check out.

I have the magic box card #1, but can;t locate the box. Wonder if anyone out there has one to sell. The only one I found was $400.00 complete; I just need the box.
