I have not had this problem but I don't have a Janome. I have a Viking and it likes Sulky bobbin thread. I will keep this in mind though if I have this problem. *4U
This is so interesting Sue. I have found that my bobbin thread comes to the top when I am using inferior top thread - especially when doing fonts. I now use a some of the top thread on the bobbin and it works beautifully. A friend has also given me a couple of prewound bobbins to try.
I usally use the same threwad in the bobbin for text designs - they really do turn out better.
Yes I had this problem too, using Madeira bobbin thread with my Pfaff creative 4.0.
I tried cotton sewing thread which led to negative results (too much lint) and polyester sewing thread, which made the embroidery too stiff.
Now I use Anchor Cotton machine embroidery thread for the bobbin and this is the only one which workes fine for me so far.
I have a Janome 10001 and it only likes Janome or brother bobbin thread. Anything else I've tried and the stitch-outs aren't worth the effort!
What were you using in the bobbin and what size was the thread, for the bobbin?
It was on some pre-wound bobbins I bought very cheaply - they were a different size to mine so I have been winding the thread onto normal bobbins! Thre thread soes look quite a lot finer than the Janome.
Seems Janome only likes Janome bobbin thread I had same problem on my 300E...Hugs Sally
Had the same problems. So I just use the same thread in my bobbin as I embroidery with.
I don't have the Janome but I have the Husqvarna. I use the prewound bobbins with the bobbin thread mainly for embroidery. I have also used regular thread in the bobbin with no trouble. Glad your fix was easy enough. Some machines are just more temperamental than others. Glad your up and running!
