I know that clipart etc may be copyright and it is therefore not possible to use it to make embroidery designs. How does this work for phrases, sayings, verses, quotes etc?

I've been cheerfully using bits and pieces of text in designs. If I have chosen the font and arranged the words as I want them, does it become my "artwork" or am I in breach of copyright?

I would think that unless it's a company slogan"), you can use any text that you type. I have done lots of saying things and never worried about it. Have seen sayings online and done them on my puter. Just look to see if it has the copyright logo thingie. If so, don't do it, if not, it's your's.
