My DH made this stand for me..the reels of thread lay sideways so the thread comes off the reels straight and dont curlup and break..it works well on the smaller reels of metallic thread..Mostly works well..you need to put a spacer between the reels...an empty bobbin works well ..we used cut off pieces of plastic hose and an old knitting needle to hold them all on ..:-)Cheers Dianne

I have used a knitting needle, never thought of asking my husband to make such a great thing instead. Thank you for sharing this idea. Before long we will all be so well organised (I hope!) thanks to all the reel and spool stands you and others have been showing. Flower for you.

necessity, the mother of invention.....my machine has a spool holder for each way, but this is a great idea if you don't have that.;)
