Thank you Anna - this is a great question. I would like to do a border on a towel and now I know roughly what to do. I must give it a try.
Hi I do them all the time. I print out a template first. Second I put a straight line in chalk half way down where you want to put the design. Put the template on your project mark you center of the design on your material.Make sure you are hooped straight. Stitch it out. place the template bumping against the design you just sewed and mark the center again. Stitch it out and so forth. SOmetimes if my hoop is big enough I do two designs at once and move. Hope I explained it alright that you understand. Hope it helps. Suzanne
I haven't done one of those as yet, but I have a continuous hoop which you just keep pulling the fabric through to do things like that. Otherwise the only other way I would do it would be to do the first design and then mark where the next one is to go and use your template that comes with your hoop to ensure correct positioning. Good luck. I am sure someone else who has done this sort of thing will be along shortly to share their ideas.
Love and blessings Chris
I've added a link on how to do it from Embroidery Library
Border a quilt?
No, I want to do an embroidery border on a cloth afghan and have no idea of how to start. Thanks for any help you may give.
Sorry, haven't done the continuous embroidery yet. Have the hoop for it but haven't used it. I know another Cutie can help you. Sorry.
