Our son is a US Marine serving in Okinawa. We love to wear shirts showing how proud we are of him. I have made more shirts for my husband than for me but this one is for me (my husband has a matching t-shirt :) ) My daughters want equal time. Working on a saying for them. The design is from adesignbylyn. She also has a son in the Marines

Very nice job - what type of stabilizer do you use on your t-shirts? I want to do some and haven't attempted it yet.

After many attempts, I have found this combination works for me. I hope a medium cutaway with sticky tear away stablizer on top (I don't like the heavy cut away--makes the design too stiff), then I attached the shirt to the sticky (the shirt is NOT hooped), then after loaded in my machine I float one or two layers of wash away. I start with one and if the stitches sink I can always add another layer. I hope this makes sense. I tried many with just the tear away and could tell the designs needed more stablizer than just the one layer. I suppose if the design was really dense then heavy cut away would be needed but then the design probably shouldn't be on a t-shrt. Thanks for taking time to look at my project. Becky
