Hi Cute Family! I am working on a hand towel with a border design. How do I get the design closer to the side and bottom border with some towel still under hooped. I cannot use a spray tack.

Hello djack, I saw you are finally helped by the advoise of jrob,I,m afraid my English is not so good that I understood your question. Glad you could make the towel the way you wanted it. I think you must trust yourself more and just try to do things, we all learned it that way and most of the time it works out very nice, so not no problem, try again. Good Luck

The basting is a good idea. If you pin just be sure they are out of the way- a good way to break the needle.

I have used pins, tho I do like the idea of basting, easier on the fingers and needles "just in case" ty jrob. *4U

My secret for when I can't spray adhesive or used sticky paper is to either hand baste or machine baste the towel to the stabilizer VERY well then sew away!;)

I trie to imagine what you mean, your towel is still in the hoop and you want your design in another place???? If that is what you want, I can move with a button on my machine to move the design from the centerplace down and to the site. The machine gives a signal when I go to far. Maeby your machine can aswell. Hope you understand my answer and I understood your question. If not please ask again what is not clear to you (or me) *4U

I can't get my towel positioned so that the design fits in a corner. Yes my machine can position the design but I can't get it in the corner like I would like to see it. Can I position the towel with the bottom and side NOT in the sides of the hoop as long as the towel is tight? Will it stitch out okay.

Thanks I thought about this but was nervous in trying. I won't know until I try........ may work once and not the next time. I'll let you know what happens. I guess I'm a stickler for detail. hee hee

Hi dkjack, I usually use a long tacking stitch and add strips or an l-shaped scrap of material to the very edge of the towel both sides of the corner, then stabilize the lot and hoop up. works for me! Hope I've helped !
