Let us know the turnaround in the new dealer you take it to..... has to be better than 5 weeks.

How about a possible 2 days!! Or the next day, the shop owner has to use it to make sure it sew well. Then I pick it up. He told the DH that it was in bad shape. To only take it to him!! We will drive the hour and a half to get it done right!!!

I just picked up my still broken machine. It seems that they NEVER ordered the part. So, Do Not take a Janome to the Bernina Dealer in Melbourne, FL!!! I am taking it to a dealer that is almost 2 hours away but they told me that it would not take long to get a part if needed!!

I would be having a total melt-down if I were you.

That is just unbelievable... glad you have your baby in hand... maybe your DH will take it for you. Did the Bernina place at least tell you the part you need? Save time and travel, if you could call ahead and order it.

Another option: Come to Illinois with your baby. I have a GREAT dealership... that YOU told me about.

I don't know where janomes are made but could it be that they really are having trouble getting their parts because of the Japanese earthquake? That doesn't make their excuses right & if they had told you that up front uou would probably be okay with it.I would call them everyday and very sweeetly ask what the status of your machine is and make a note of who you talked to and every time say
"So & so" told me yesterday--- repeat this every day & after a few days they will get the picture that you are not at all satisfied and maybe will get with it! Just remember the old saying," You catch my flies with honey than you do with vinegar" so kill 'em with kindness. Good luck!

I am so sorry. I have been going through withdrawals because my desktop computer crashed and that is where my embroidery software is. I feel lost without embroidery. I have sewing projects to do but I NEED my embroidery.

Tell them five weeks for a fuse is just too long... Ask them for the bad fuse so you can take it to a hardware store or Radio Shack or electric supply and see if they have the right kind available - then take the new one back to the dealer and have it installed. Fuses are generally just "fuses" and if you have the right voltage, etc. it should work in a sewing machine.

There is nothing worse than getting the run around from a dealer. I went thru the same thing back in January. Every time i called i got a different answer. Found out it sat 2 weeks with nothing being done to it. Don't let up, call everyday if you have to. You have waited long enough

Check out your local electrical supply store. We have a company called GraybaR here that carries all sorts of fuses and they may have what you need. Maybe you can find your fuse on the internet ....have you done a search yet? Good luck!

Judy, is this warranty work or are you paying for it? I think you're not getting attention from the Bernina dealer because you didn't buy your machine there. It might be worth it to go wherever the nearest real Janome dealer is. Heavens, it's a stupid fuse, not the motor or the computer, how could it be that big a deal to just get it ordered and fixed? It's so frustrating, the way businesses treat people, and think we have no choice. I do hope you get this solved soon, and that you find a real dealer that wants to help. Hugs, Marji

If this is your regular dealer, I would suggest that he take the fuse out of a machine on his floor and put it into your machine. That will light a fire under him to get in the replacement fuse as he won't have a demo to use! Sometimes you have to just get a little pushy! I know this, because I have had to do this in the past myself....Good Luck!

That is toooooo long! I have the Janome 11000SE also and would hate to be that long without my "baby". My Janome dealer is really good about having parts and can usually get something done in a day or two at the most. It should not take that long for a fuse. Good luck. Carol

My Janome dealer went out of business. So, I went to the Bernina dealer that has a Janome cert tech.

I have the same kind of machine. I had to have the bobbin case replaced and he didn't have that one, but had it on order (as he likes to keep spare parts for machines so when he needs to fix one he's not waiting for parts) and said it would be in later that afternoon. But because he had been away he also had other machines to catch up on, but was kind enough to put mine ahead and it was ready for me the next morning (he also did it's servicing at the same time.
Maybe you should start phoning them on a regular basis and they'll get tired of you phoning and they'll get on the place where they ordered it from.
Good luck - know how it feels to be without your baby.

I am so sorry you are going through this. It is frustrating being without your machine for so long. I learned something new. I didn't know there was a fuse in our machines.

I was not aware of it until they told my husband a month ago that they were waiting for the part. It could be that they never ordered it!

shirlener88 by shirlener88 13 Jul 2011

Or they didn't order it until they had a certain amount to order with it.

Judy I feel your hurt. Is there another Janome dealer near you? About 3 weeks before Easter I dropped my emb. hoop and a spring flew out of it. I couldn't find it. Took it to the Bernina place here and they ordered a spring. A week later I called and then was told they could not place an order until they had $50 worth ordered at one time. I went to a former Bernina place that had lost the Bernina dealership. He did put a spring in it but it
was too tight. My son came along and ask what I was doing. I told him the new spring was too tight. He said "you know that is like the springs they have in ballpoint pens don"t you". I tore apart 6 pens and took them to the place that had tried to fix the
hoop. One of them worked and I was able to make 35
bunnies in the hoop for Easter. I still have not heard from the Bernina dealer I went to at first. I read here on Cutie that people go to the hardware store to get screws and other parts for their equipment. I don't know where you would fine a fuse.
I live in Mobile,Al. I saw where you are in Fla. near where? Good Luck neighbor!
