Carol...I have been experimenting with turning regular embroidery into items that appear to be FSL. You use 3 layers of WSS, 2 layers of tulle, and one layer of sheer organza. Stitch the design and trim around design to about 1/2". Wash out WSS and dry. Trim again around 1/16" or closer, just don't get so close that you cut the stitches. If I want the design to be stiff then don't let it soak in water more than 10 minutes....if I want it to be soft then leave it in the water for at least 30 minutes. You can use many styles of monograms if you stitch in this manner. Bobbie

Thanks Bobbie. I'll have to try this. This is a special friend and the first time she has ever asked me to do something for her. Carol
