I keep all my zip files (especially the ones I purchase!) in case I mess up a design or accidently delete/overwrite it.
I don't like to delete them, just in case. But as Jrob said, to use CD's or pen drives to storage them. Flower and XoXo
I may try that. But I guess I don't have to worry as long as I have storage space. That's a lot of files to go through at this point.
Clawton, usually when I get zipped files they contain all the formats, plus text & jpegs. I unzip the format I need, as well as color charts, etc. then delete all the formats I don't need. I backup as well, either zip or unzipped, but I never erase the zip file until I've opened the file in my software & made sure it's ok. Brilliant discovery with Janome Digitizer Pro: I can open a zipped file in the software without unzipping it! I knew I could view zipped files, but didn't know I could actually use them from zipped form! Yay for me, that was easy! I know this software was way expensive, but it does more than I ever thought possible! Flowers for you both, Marji
You are fortunate. I can't view designs unless they are unzipped. That is a great feature that you have. Thanks for the response.
I usually stick them on a CD in case of.......;)
I normally do a monthly back-up of my whole drive so I was thinking about deleting some things such as the zipped one and the multi copies when all versions of a design is downloaded. Thanks
