If you have editing software, lower the density. When your fonts are small, if too dense, they are stitching on top of stitches. Will cause knotting and pulling. the stitches are very small, almost stitching in the same space. A lower density will make small fonts stitch out smoothly.
I use PE Design version 4, I will try altering the density. I can also alter the density on the Galaxie itself so I will give that a whorl. Do you think altering the tension would help? Thanks for your help
Usually you don't need to alter the tension if the density is right on the font. I have PE Design 3.0,,the fonts stitch out ok, but the default density is too high for small fonts. Take it down until the stitches look almost too sparce...you will be surprised at how well it will look, when it doesn't look good in the software...
That is you will be surprised at how well it will stitch, when it doesn't look good in the software!
I do my text designs in Embird's font engine. It is just a better program, and I can adjust the size, density and the stitches so much easier than the PE Design
Welcome to cutie and you have answers that I am not able to give you.
Hi and welcome to Cute. I have a Brother Galaxie 3000 too but withour the Disney designs. Is the machine sewing correctly for other designs other than fonts? I had this problem with my machine the other day and I had not threaded it properly. Are you using prewound bobbins or winding your own. I find if using prewound that as they get to a certain point they wobble in the machine and then do not sew out well. Which of the fonts in your machine are causing the problem or is it all of them. If you post further details I will have a go with my machine and get back to you. It is very frustrating trying to get something embroidered and it wont work
Thanks for your help, I am using prewound bobbins. It seems to be all fonts when they are small size. Will get back to you with the preprogrammed fonts that are not working.
Since machine service is as expensive as it is a lot of us just use the same color thread in the bobbin and no one will know different. But if its time for your machine to be serviced by all means go ahead and have it done.
Sounds like you need to visit your local Brother dealer and have them look at your machine. Good luck and happy sewing. Juanita
I have just had my machine in as the needle bar locked up and the safety mechanism was jamed on. It was not cheap either approximately £100, so hopefully I can resolve this without another visit as the nearest dealer was miles away! Thanks for your help
