lbrow, if the design goes with the tutorial and it said to use tulle or chiffon, then you might find that the design is not a true FSL. Some designs are made so that the finished item looks like FSL, but they need some sort of sheer fabric to hold them together. If you don't use it, your design will fall apart. So check exactly what your design is sweetie, hugs and a flower.
Thank u ruthie I need all the help I can get on this one 'cause it's completely new adventure 4 me *4U
I use a heavy weight Solvy or 4X and only use one layer. The lighter weight WSS will need 2 layers as the others have said. Will go look at your project.
lrow, you got good answers, and I have never used tulle or chiffon. I have always used two layers of WSS - and I rotate the layers, so weave it different. Can't wait to see what you have done.
what kind of WSS? lightweight or heavy? thanks for your expertise. I've tried FSL in gold metallic and it made holes and I was very sad, so I don't do too many FSL's, but with all you CUTE experts, will try again. ***4 all of you
I have not done any FSL yet, but I have always seen that they recommend at least two layers of WSS and the same thread on the bobbin. You do not really need tulle or chiffon.
lbrow, there is no need to use tulle or chiffon with a true FSL design - but you should always use two layers of WSS and the bobbin thread should be the same as the top thread color. I can't wait to see what you accomplished. *4U
Thanks Shirlener the tutorial I was reading said use tulle or chiffon & I thought I had read somewhere just 2 pieces of WSS 8FU
I have used tulle only once and I have 99% of the time used the same bobbin thread so it looks as gr8 on both sides. I have used the colored organza the once on my last project. I am sew happy you finally tried I will check it out right away. *'s for you my dear. ><>
