Very beautiful, I can imagine that you make them for very special occasions. *4U
This is Xquisit, roses for you, M
My GM (on Mum's side) emigrated from UK so many of her beautiful possessions were gorgeous British antiquities. Worse luck most were stolen from her home by an unscrupulous landlady when GM became a victim of dementia. But I still have fond memories of GM and her treasures which are brought back to me everytime i watch Antiques Roadshow. Thanks for another nostalgic interlude. hugs, Meganne
I have a bigger family now in the USA than in England, begun when some of my Great Uncles emigrated. It's great that the 'big divide' is now very small indeed with all this new technology. We have similar stories to tell. After being a carer for my Mother for 10 yrs she died (96yrs old) 3 yrs ago and I found a pair of cushion covers which I had embroidered with my Dad's regimental badge. I never knew that she had kept them all these years. It's wonderful to share your memories Meganne & hugs to you too.
Lovely! Would you mind sharing how you did this? I would love to make one. *4U
Hello Dkjack. I'd love to share how to make with you but I think it would be too long and detailed to put into this space. If you would care to send me a private email (address on file) mentioning 'Cute' I'll send details back to you. Or if you run Skype or MSN I could talk you through.
I have not heard of these, but this is lovely. *4U ><>
Hello Joaniessw, there are a lot of beautiful, original cards still to be found. If you log in to eBay and look for silk cards quite a lot are being offered for auction. Heartrending sometimes to read them.
Simply beautiful from a beautiful person to even want to make something like this. *4U for all your hard work
That is a lovely remark to make Ibrow thank you. So pleased you like it. They are beautiful cards to make for a bereavement somehow seeming to be very thoughful & caring.
elenu, this is adorable - very elegant - would you mind sharing - how you accomplished making it? I would love to try. *4U
I will email you later, the details will be quite drawn out - I should think too much to put on site (yes?) I'm so happy that you like it enough to do that. Talk to you later. If you are on line with Skype or MSN I could talk you through?
elenu, I don't have either - but click on my name - you might find something there to help you contact me. Hehehe! Thanks!
Will do, bear with me tho' at this rate I'll never be doing anything other than sitting at the computer!!
Absolutely gorgeous! My grandmother had some hand mbroidered hankies that looked alot like this, too;)
Thanks again jrob. Nostalgia is a great thing isn't it? It's good that we have our memories.
Hey Jrob, I still have several of my GM's hankies like this and some beautiful antique doilies that I purchased. They're too fragile to use but I take them out and daydream with them occasionally. Ah Memories. roses 4U, M
