I am not a quilter but I love the way you made this quilt and did not make the blocks the trditional squares. Great job and I know you mom was real proud of it.
This is really awesome. I like the bowties with the season patches. I have never seen a great way to put them all together until now. Thank you for posting. Now I can finally do the one I have been wanting to do. Great!!!!
I know the original post was years ago, but someone else brought it back up so had to comment on how timeless it is. My best friend turned 70 the end of August, she is a quilter and has always wanted to make this quilt but doesn't have an embroidery machine. I made up this full set of quilt squares (5x7 size)plus added a few special ones for her - she lives in Texas, had her 70th birthday, and got her permit to carry the week before her birthday. Also had her three closest friends - another quilter, a minister, and a gardener. It was great fun, now I wait to see how she finishes it.
i love everything about this quilt, the sunbonnets, colors and the snowball design. wow, wish i was your mom.
Thanks, I had to go raid my sister's stash for tiny calicos, I tend to buy bright big prints.
Great quilt. Love the colors you used. I made a baby quilt with these designs years ago. Gave it to a friend with a new baby girl. They were thrilled with it.
It turned out beautiful, I am sure your mom will love it, thanks for sharing.
Thank you! You have inspired me to get ready for GD #2; she arrives in December!
Just LOVE it, I stitched a few out some years ago and some did not sew out too well for me. Started to try to make them myself. Seeing yours wonder now if I did something wrong with the backing or so. Must give it another try someday. the whole thing is just BEAUTIFUL
Gorgeous - Went to the site and they have beautiful design. A few I would love to have.

Joane, what a lovely choice of fabrics and the placement wonderful - I have always adored these designs - now I see them here - I will have to get busy stitching them out. *4U
Oh thank you! The girls are still at Ann the Gran, and Sam is at Betty's Sunset Threads.
Lovely quilt. very unique design and placement of blocks.
I really like making snowball blocks. It just took a bit of pre planning as I went along.
Love your quilt and the Sue's through out the year antics. *4U
The embroidery is great and I love the setting. Nice colours too. Flower for you.
Thanks. There was not a misplaced stitch in any of them. I used Kona cotton, and 3 layers of sewer cloth. We lost a great digitizer when Betty Cauthen died.
it looks great, mom will be very happy
My Mom passed away 2 years ago, which is why I now get to have it on my wall. Every time I see it, I remember how much she liked it.
Darling, darling, darling!!!!
It's official title is "Sunbonnets in the Garden". All the fabrics have flowers. And I got to go shopping, cause I certainly didn't have all those tiny prints.
