Topaz i would like to tell me your experience with it, hope does not have the same problem Diamond has. Thank you.

I have had a Diamond for about 2 years and have had no problems. Wasn't aware thre was a thread problem. There is a big update for the Diamond. I have never used the Topaz.

I have a Diamond and have had no thread problems. The problems I have read about on the yahoo group usually turn out to be user problems.

I own a Diamond and and love it. Have not had a problem. What problems are people having? I would prefer the Ruby or Diamond because of the USB connection and the viewing screen on the sewing machine. With the new Diamond out you may be able to find used SE's or Ruby's at a reduced price because of people trading up. Check with dealers to see what they have on hand.

I have a Topaz 20 and LOVE IT. Had it about 1 1/2 years now. Not sure what problems the Diamond has??

I don't have experience with it, but my sewing friend bought one, and stated she wishes that she never got it. She goes back to her older Designer to do most of everything. I stitched on the Ruby the other night at sit and sew, and I would not buy one of them either. Theey just don't sew like the older Vikings at all. But, good luck with your decision.
