I decided to test some of these as I don't have software to see it...and I was very disappointed, both that I stitched out had problems....the fill stitches were great on both but when the outlining started...it was like a train wreck....it was all over the place. I did two from the musical instruments set...(the one posted in the other discussion page) and it wasn't even as good as the picture showed as the white on the outside of the red didn't fill the whole space or the black didn't fill in all that it should have....
the big drum even had a triangle on it covered by the black outline but didn't do the outline in that spot.....crazy things but the drum without the outline was great.....go figure....
That's the result of auto-digitizing. You have to compensate for the push-pull of the stitches, or the outline is way off, and the auto mode doesn't compensate. The designs look cute, but they're showing clipart, not stitchouts. This site is really not worthwhile, unless all you get excited about is downloading more freebies you'll never use, because these aren't worth using. Hugs, Marji
This is the site that was discussed a couple of days ago. See link.
The designs are all auto-digitised. Not only do they have lots of unnecessary jumps, the choice between satin stitches and fill stitches is very illogical: one arm of a bunny in satin stitch, the other in a fill stitch; missing parts; etc.
Have a look at the post mentioned and you'll see a couple of examples of strange and haphazard designs.
I strongly recommend testing those ALWAYS.
I quite agree, the designs are very disappointing. Also, since they change every three hours, it's kind of improbable that anyone will get the design you're posting about if you put it here, especially if you don't put a date and time on your post. If you want to do this, why not post it in the "Freebie" TAB where freebies belong? Hugs, Marji
This is such an interesting site, and I agree it'd be nice to have a 'countdown' clock for when the designs change. I did find out something interesting in looking at their site -- it's a spin-off site from mysweetembroidery.com, a subscription site, that offers 1 set/day plus 2 freebies/day.
Thank you, I wonder their time so we know when the designs change.
Missed the alphabet but the redwork childrenn's designs are darling. Thanks
Shoot, I missed it too! I only heard about this site yesterday so I have to remember to check it often!
rats! I missed it! Have you figured out at what times they change the designs? I think it says every 3 hours but am not able to check it frequently enough to know if it's 12-3,3-6,6-9 etc. Or what time zone they may be on....
thanks for the notice tho. I love that alphabet and haven't seen it as the offering yet.
Missed the alpha but got a cute r/w sewing pattern.Thank you
Thanks I have never been to this site before. This is very cute.
