True Sizer is a free but limited program. Embird is an actual digitizing program, that you can make your own designs with if you want to learn to digitize. Re-sizing should be undertaken with caution, and definitely test sew before you use the design. Unless you're re-sizing something you digitized in your own software, it doesn't always come out well. And the more you want to take a design up or down, the less likely you are to have good luck. Try some of the free programs, see what they'll do for you. I like the way Pulse shows the virtual stitchout, sometimes it's fun just to play! Good luck on your quest, hugs, Marji
Wilcom Trusizer E2 is the version that can convert files and resize. It can only reduce stitches under a certain length, which in designs that are longer than wider, can cause distortions. You can not crop or take out specific stitches. You can visually see the stitch pattern, however you can not change it. It can skew designs, which can be fun. It can reduce or enlarge proportionally or non-equally, by measurement or by the percent. I read somewhere that due to the various level of complexitiy in the code. EMB - Their native ext is best (E2 has a corporate version that the do not quote $$$ on the internet), then DST, Exp, hus are best to use, then jef and pes is at the bottom, being the most complex. I have used only the pes and have had a 50% success rate. Hope this helps, I too need to check out Embird and ones that come with machines.
The other thing that WTS does is mirror designs which is a boon for someone like me that does not have the facility on their machine.
I love, love, love the features of Embird! Great for the cost. I do not know how I ever did machine embroidery without it and its Iconizer plug-in!

TrueSizer is free. You only get a 30 day trial with Embird before you would have to buy. Another good free resize program is Pulse Ambassador. I use Pulse more than TrueSizer but they are both excellent programs.

Could not get Pulse to work on PES files. Have just DL the latest Trusizer.
Embird is so much more....I have both, and Wilcom Truesizer is wonderful for converting designs, but it only resizes the emb format acturately, and the editing is limited for any other format, but, it is free. Embird basic does much more, more than could be explained here. You can convert many formats, resize, change density, duplicate, cut parts out, change stitch order, change colors, combine colors, reduce color changes,,,and, much much more It is not free, but it is very reasonably priced.
