Kudos!! This is the 1st site I've found that offers designs in true "grade A".ART Others offer ART but you get 'grade C' thus losing infinite resizing-might as well get just any ol' format! Thanks!

I have Editor Plus 6 (1st half of the Designer Pluss - couldn't afford the lot). How do you save in PES or VIP or whatever?

Sewgrammie, I have a Bernina Emb machine (an older one) that I have always saved pes format to use. Never understood ART format since it wasn't readily available especially in free designs back then. Didn't know one format would be better than others.

Hi! Basically,it limits your editing capabilities. It mostly makes a difference if you want to re-size outside 10%. In a true grade 'A', it will recast the stitches... so you get a better design at various sizes with the stitch counts being very different at each size. When you don't use the native file (for Bernina it is ART (not sure how you get a 'B' or 'C', I THINK when someone using software w/ a different native format does 'save as') sometimes it simply condenses the stitches, or spreads them out... the stitch count changes, but not always as much as it should. So using a grade 'C' is the same as using PES or something else. When editing, I have found sometimes other formats do just fine, but then sometimes it is more trouble than it is worth. I am still learning A LOT about digitizing, but I do know that whenever possible it is much nicer working in your native format. My Bernina is a 340 Deco, but I actually stitch out most of my designs on a Babylock 6 needle machine now, but my software is Bernina's Designer 6... too much $$ wrapped up in that to change software so I continue to digitize and edit in ART, save it, then 'save as' a PES to stitch out!

Mine is an Artista 165-there is always more to learn about this hobby-thank you for the lesson in formats.
