I went downstairs to start on it then remembered the Bigpond rep hadn't come to connect our ADSL. (I've been having nothing but problems with the wireless internet).

Anyway, that thought prompted me to phone Telstra, over an hour later, after trying different settings on my laptop, under the guidance of the Bigpond technician, we finally decided that my problems were definitely caused by the wireless internet and he got my ADSL connected for me.

Then the census lady arrived, another 1/2 hour lost, then my phone started, OK, I always make time for friends, then two of my ebay purchases arrived, one of which was the wrong item, the other one was damaged goods, so back upstairs to type up emails, with everything to do with the internet taking four times longer to complete. Aaaaargh!!!
I think you get the idea.......

But I did manage to get the boxes down from on top of my desk and unpack my pc.
Day two has also been a wipeout as I had washing, cleaning and other things that, by necessity, took precedence over my desires.

It is now 3:20 am, and I have just finished setting up my pc, getting it connected to the ADSL internet, then quickly handling all the emails that had come while my pc was packed up. Then back upstairs to my laptop to re-rout my emails from the wireless internet address, to the ADSL emad. Then rebooting the laptop using a wireless connection to the ADSL instead of the Wireless Internet.

MAN OH MAN! What a difference in the internet performance!!!! I truly would NEVER recommend wireless internet to anyone, it SUCKS!!!!

Now I just have to check my network connections then I can get some sleep.

Maybe tomorrow, I'll get to my Juki, unless Ray decides he wants his pc set up to use.

I can remember when it would take about ten minutes to set up a pc, now we have modems; routers; surround sound speakers; printers; webcams; tablets; network; internet; I don't know how my brain stores all the information, but I managed to access it so I guess my fear of Alzheimers is unwarranted. LOL!!!

If I ever get some sleep tonight it will be a miracle!!!
Just had to take a break and share with you all.
Hugs n roses to all, Meganne

Sounds as bad as me when I got my new sewing/emb. machine - although I was busy (not like you I'm sure) I was also a bit leary as I'd never used an emb. machine before.
You'll get there - it's just making sure that when you get to it other things won't be getting in the way!
Good luck - have fun!

I can't believe the difference between the two internet services.

Using wireless, nearly every time I typed a post it would time out when I tried to submit it, so I would lose the lot and have to type it all over again.
I was getting nothing but Page errors, can't find server errors, site timed out errors and if the page DID load, all the pictures would be missing. I didn't want to believe it was all caused by the wireless internet, but it was.

Since I had my ADSL restored it is AMAZING how all my problems have just ceased to exist.

So if you are having similar problems, look to your TYPE of Internet service, especially in Australia though I am told Telstra is soon to release 4G and they seem to think this will reduce a lot of the current wireless problems.

Hugs n roses, Meganne

I can relate. I'm so busy that when I set up a cxmas
embroidery project by the time I get there I forgot
what I was going to do.
So now I have put all the files in a cxmas folder under each project so I dont have to go hunting.
I was cleaning out my ponds yesterday and smoking
chicken and and today I'm pooped by my to do list is growing.

From seeing the posting from you I wondered if you were ill. Then when I started to read you sound rather busy, if you keep life up at the pace you are on at the moment you will be waiting for a while before you are using the Juki. Take care and have fun

Overlocker

Juki is a professional sewing machine manufacturer. I think Meganne's model is a combo of overlocker (serger) and cover-pro. I'm jealous. Hugs, Marji
