I have stitched several designs and not one of them yet have turned out. They pull, in spite of stabilization, and by the time they are finished, they are terribly distorted, and sometimes aren't even complete.

I searched high and low for dog designs and they had a bunch. I would like to hear other experiences.
Thank you.

Good luck. I specifically do not unzip my files so that I can remember where I got them. All files that start with ZIP followed by a long string of numbers probably belong to them. I went through today and purged their files from my system. I had 988 of them. Bummer. They were kinda cute too. But really disappointing in reality.

Here's the link to what was discussed about these sites a few days ago.

Thank you. I read through all of the posts, and they are absolutely correct. Perhaps it is quantity over quality. And their membership is $30 for the first week. Very sad. Now, seriously, I'm hesitant to get any design memberships without first doing several sample designs from the site. I'm certainly learning the hard way.

Wow -- I sure have wasted a lot of time downloading designs. Oh, well, live and learn.

Is there anyway to tell a poorly digitzed design without sewing it out? I have Designers Studio Plus that lets me simulate sewing and I can sometimes tell with that, but I'm guessing I wouldn't see tension or pull issues. And, how can you tell one that is auto digitized and why is that bad?

I don't think you can really tell properly without stitching it out, this is why a decent digitize will test stitch before offer designs either for free or to purchase. You can use a stitch simulator to make sure that it stitches in a logical sequence but in my opinion an embroidery is not an embroidery until it is stitched.

Thank you.

The main thing I noticed was that ALL of the fill stitches ran diagonally, and the stitches that were different colors or a different part didn't quite connect, so there is background around the edges. There was also no underlayment on the designs I stitched out yesterday. I never knew the importance of that until I saw what happened when it was missing. I am not a digitizer...can you tell??

I just completed a set of the blue line bugs and occupation kids for a baby quilt. It is in the quilt frame right now. I did find a few odd stitches but overall they were great and the quilt is really cute. But just the line ones I have tried so far.

Thank you for your answers. I have been watching the new sites springing up all over the place, all connected to MySweetEmbroidery.com and NONE of the designs I've stitched out have worked. They are cute, but look like they have been auto-digitized. I know because I tried using an auto-digitizing tool when I first started and that is exactly the result I got. And there is not adequate underlayment so the designs bunch up and create a rippled mess. I'm going to go through and delete all of their designs so I don't accidentally try again. Maybe the pseudo-redwork designs will stitch out, but I'm not going to use any more filled designs. I had seriously considered a subscription, and was trying out some of them to make sure. I'm glad they give us the opportunity to learn prior to paying. Live and learn, right??

I also had a subscription to the sister site - mysweetembroidery. I could not use one single design - they were by far the worst designs I have EVER seen! A sample design sewed OK so I bought a subscription. Believe me, it was the ONLY design on the site that sewed OK.

Is this what you were trying to add caroldann? Or were you trying to add a link to a post?

No, there was a post about 9 days ago about there terrible designs. Several of the digitizers commented that they were "auto stitched" or something like that, but I've tried 4-5 times to add it and it acts like it's going to but doesn;t. Oh well, must be the heat. Hugs..Carol

I read some of what was posted here. Seems there are unhappy people posting where ever someone will listen. Thank you for trying. I've learned!!

This was brought up a week or so ago. Their sister site is mysweetembroidery.com. I do not have a problem saying their designs are terrible. I will try and find the other post and give you the link, there were more negative comments then good. Hugs..Carol

I recall seeing a post about trouble with some designs, but life had me by the horns right then and I wasn't able to read the posts at the time. Maybe I should go back when I get a chance and read through. Thank you for responding.

Thank you for sharing you results. I have not tried them. Sometimes you "get what you pay for" and sometimes it's user error. It will be interesting to see what others say about the designs.
