I have 5 like this. Even one I got in a yard sale came this way.

I use that grippy shelf liner stuff, cut into squares big enough for jar lids and stuff. Works on the seam rippers too..Use two,,,one for each end, and pull!

I'll try that. Thanks!

It worked. Thank you. Once I was able to get a grip after a couple of twists they came right apart.

Heat some water in a cup so it's very hot. Then dip the cover part into the water and give it a moment. Then try pulling them apart. Works with glass, might work with the plastic.

I had that happen and I used my little craft pliers because otherwise I couldn't hang onto them - slipped right out of my hand.

Have you tried a little sewing machine oil in the gap where they separate? Maybe putting it in the refrigerator to cool it would help? I'm thinking of all the things my Dad would suggest.

I give mine to my son. He can distroy an Anvil with a rubber hammer. LOL Good Luck.

ETA: Try rubberbands. It helps me to use a rubber band on jars. Maybe it will help with the grip and allow you to pull them apart.
