hope u find your needle i once put it thru my finger so i knew where it was lol... and welcome to the cutte family....soozie
Those little pieces that break off can go off in any direction. A good reason to wear some kind of glasses if you don't wear glasses already. I had a piece of a needle hit me on the cheek one time. Please be careful cuties. Little safety things like this slip our minds sometimes.

That happe ned to me to and the repair man turned my machine upside down and shook it also another time i lost a screw and he shook it and out it fell.He said don't sew untill after the shake lol hugs carolyn
I looked everywhere I could look without taking the machine apart. It is not in the design (for a baby so I hope I did'nt miss it!) I finished the design without a prob so I will sweep really well and then take it apart before I sew again.
Thanks everyone!
After doing a thorough search of my machine and surrounding area I almost gave up. I found mine about six or eight feet away beside my computer. It was so small I almost didn't recognize it as being the tip of my needle. Good luck in the search!
This is why I always wear my glasses when using the machine. Pieces can fly out all over the place.
Sometimes the needle just breaks and the piece does not penetrate the design and just flies. Look around the floor for it. I have had some that flew far. So just don't look near the machine but all around the floor too. It is not always inside the machine. Hope this helps good luck! Suzanne
Lots of folks have this happen... I dropped the WHOLE needle down the rabbit hole while changing to a new one! I shook, rattled, etc. even took it to local dealer that does not service my brand so they couldn't open it up without voiding warranty. They turned the wheel, sewed for a few minutes and deemed it was down far enough that it wouldn't bind the mechanics. So I sewed and sewed. Just recently the machine in for regular service at authorized dealer 60 miles away, and they found it! Also found a knife that dropped in when I was changing it out. Guess there is room for junk, like my junk drawer! Linda
Mine are often left embedded into the dog collars as it's the heavy webbing usually causing them to break. Can't leave them there of course, but at least easier to find than if they drop lower. Best of luck finding it.
You have plenty of answers and we probably all have had it happen at some time or other. I have even had the end still on the thread among other places. Welcome to cuties.
Have you looked in the bobbin-case? Remove the bobbin and look - it might have fallen in - that happened to me more than once. Clean it to prevent scratches in that area.
It might even have fallen down inside - that happened to me once. In that case try to shake it out by turning your machine upside down and don't use your machine before you have it out (it could get stuck between the moving parts of the shaft and so on and cause major damage). If in doubt carefully turn the hand-wheel making sure there's no obstruction.
I had this happen to me just recently & it was on top of my fabric under the rim of the hoop. Have you looked there yet?
This is a horrible thing to happen but unfortunately I am sure it has happened to all of us at some time. I would just like to welcome you to Cute. This is a wonderful site with so many really helpful, gifted people. Enjoy.
My machine breaks needles all the time. I agree with everyone else but I've also found mine on the floor.
One time I was looking for the other part of the needle and it was in the dense design.
I had that happen once and I never did find the missing piece. My machine has worked beautifully so I was lucky. Even though they say it is a no-no, I used a telescoping magnet inside but no luck. I bought the magnet at a car parts store. It looks like a car antenna and is great for picking up pins without bending over!
I have a brother se350 and we turned the machine up-side down and the part of the needle fell out. Lucky? I think not.
