I am enjoying the summer months of serenity in my backyard while it is here in Michigan. I stick with begonias because the deer and groundhogs eat everything else. Until the snow comes!!!! ~Carolyn~
OH my - I would love to be seeing this daily. Such lovely picture - summer or winter.
Thank you Shirlene. I truely have been blessed. I wish that for everyone!!!
My garden's cups.
This so reminds me of my grandmother - she loved African voilets and tea - I would love cups like these, too. Special!
Love seeing the flower gardens!
I plant a huge veggie garden each year. Way too much weeding work for one person, good thing DH retired last year. Guinea Hens have helped with keeping this winter's veggie supply from the the grasshoppers! Hope to fill the freezer and cupboards with veggies enough to feed us til next year.
What a beautiful garden and I bet its a lot of work . The reward being all those fresh veg.
What a dream! A lot of weeding but I can imagine it takes quite a bit of time to keep things picked every day. Great garden!!
What a lovely garden and you will be eating great on this for the year. WOW!
Caught this little fella earlier
today taking a bath in my sons truck
in their play area in the garden
I love these little robins lol xx
Big hugs from London

Love my Protea blooming for the first time this year.
When my husband's diabetes doctor found out the he and I had the same cancer doctor he mailed me a copy of one of the beautiful photos he has take from all over the world. He sent it matted so I just had to put it in a frame and hang it on my wall! I love it!
here are a couple of pictures from my window,There is not much in flower right now in the mountains, because its winter.
Great views! What is that in picture 2? I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before. Interesting.
It's called either a Stag Horn or an Elk Horn - my mum has a huge one and she feeds it banana skins!!! Love Chris
here are my sunflowers, they went NUTS but the birds love them.
Sue I bet you feed the birds during the winter time, Just as i do, I have foiunbd that every year the birds leve me a gift that i only find in the late spring time in the form of sunflowers, Normally they are single headed and i have about six scattered around the garden. But, this year i have only had three, I must admit to being a tad disapointed when i found them But oh my,
they grew and they grew until one large flower opened at the top as normal but then i noticed that there were a few more buds on the stem.
The sunflower seeds used in last years wild bird food must be a new variety as in the one plant i had over 40 blooms. Not just one flower from the birds this year but a whole bouquet allready in a bunch. Will you do the same as i am and keeping some of the seed to grow on in the garden against a fence for next year.

Good Moning Cuties! How about over the HOUSE? I love sky photos, hope you do too-Toogie
Yes, I love sky photo's. It is one of the most amazing of His creations. Ever changing, always amazing, mesmerizing, beautiful. I loved flying above the clouds looking out on those big balls of cotton candy and the little wispy bits. I am looking forward to getting some photo's of a full moon reflecting in the river, I'll post them when I do.
HNR, Meganne
Beautiful! We always love to look at sky photos and tell what we see. I see a cherub in the top middle (just to the right). What do you see?
He was on one of my crepe myrtles. I thought he was interesting-Toogie
We don't actually have a garden - no vegetables. But we do put water on the wild flowers. Can you see Snap among the lupine? We only let our kitties out when we are right there with them. They LOVE playing among the wildflowers. No wonder I sneeze so much!
I live in a very dense forest area, so I don't have much that grows other than trees. This past year, I planted a whole bunch of blueberries, because their cousin, the huckleberry, does quite well in this area. But, for what ever reason, all of my plants have been stripped down to the bare branches by some very small critter (I'm thinking some sort of bug). All of the deciduous trees have come under attack. So I don't have any pretty pictures. I'm definitely admiring everyone else's though!! Thank you for sharing a very pretty little spot with all of us to enjoy!! Thank you Sue for bringing it up. Fun subject!!!
Thanks for sharing my fellow cute's. I have nothing blooming. I have a hydrangea but no blooms this year.
I do have some Prairie Sage, we were told it would not grow in Alabama. But it is doing well. No blooms though. Will try to get a pic tomorrow.
My poor garden is underwater - we have had so much rain here in the Cape (SA)but my roses are sprouting after the very heavy pruning I gave them. Lovely pictures from the Cute ladies. Thank you. Sarah.
The pics are beautiful! I have a rabbit & a turtle in my garden that has done a bit of damage!! Want a pic of them!? :-) But we've had plenty of vegs this yr so can share some with the critters I guess!
I am new at this vegetable thing. I don't think I will plant cabbage again. Almost took over the whole bed and there were 3 of them. Deers didn't get into my yard and the roses are save.
Beautiful roses. Glad the deer didn't eat yours! My family also grew cabbage this year. They were huge and very heavy!
I love how you have your garden in raised beds. Everything looks very healthy!!! Enjoy all of the fresh produce!!
How about this Tiger Swallowtail butterfly who decided to hang around and get her picture taken? It's one of my favorite shots.
OH MY, how gorgeous!!! How big would this be? It looks huge. I would love to digitise this the marking are so perfect.
Thanks, my thought too, but I don't have the patience to digitize it. So dear Meg, you have my permission to do so. Just please let me be the first (after you) to test stitch it. Oh, the butterfly is about half again as big as a Monarch butterfly.
Thank you so much and of course you will be the first to see the completed design.
so.... how big is a Monarch butterfly?
The tiger swallowtail is 7.9 to 14 cm according to http://entomology.ifas.ufl.edu/cr... It appears this is a male. I didn't know the females are a different color until I looked it up.
My landlady has lovely flowers in 'OUR' garden.
So, so pretty. I love looking at other people's flowers, don't have the patience to grow them myself.
I don't have much patience for it either - but I love looking. I have lived here for 4 years - so I feel like she does all that work for me to look, too - Hehehe!
I have one flower at this time. Not much gardening going on here. This is my second one of this flower and I don't know what it is! But I think it's beautiful. Anyone know it's name?
Looks like what I have heard called surprise lilies. They were called that because people did not plant them they just pop up. Some are red and some pink. I could be wrong. Maybe someone can tell us.
Hi Ramona, in Australia we call them Naked Lady or Belladonna Lilies. I have them in my garden! Love Chris
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/...
Have a look at some of them on this website.
We have always called these "Pink Ladies." I love these. They have such a beautiful scent.
We call them Surprise Lilies too. Am sure there's a proper name, but I like surprise! I think they come up, die down & then surprise you by putting up a stalk with that beautiful lily!!!
I had some of these and I was told rhey were naked ladies or suprise lillies.
Lenamae
Thank you all for your answers. I have asked around our area here since mine bloomed and found that Naked Ladies is what they call them here. I guess because it's just a stalk, no leave.
Here in AR we call them surprise lilies and the folks that came here from the north call them naked ladies. Ours were about 3 weeks late blooming this year.Hugs..Carol
Does this count as something interesting in a garden? Lizell took this photo just outside Stratford On Avon
Thats brilliant - we've had several scarecrow festivals in Lincolnshire but I haven't seen any made with straw bales before!
I got this Easter Lily as an easter gift a couple years ago. Didn't know if it would actually grow outside as we live in Michigan and it gets pretty cool but it bloomed this year with quite a few blossoms on it.
very lovely Lillies , do they stay open at night for the light to highlight them?
