RIP. hugs n roses and sincerest sympathy. I hope it was a desktop keyboard and you don't mean it was your laptop's keyboard, HUGE difference. M
Oh katy dear, I am sorry to hear that. I hope you are able to rescue all your designs. I do a regular back up. AT LEAST once a month and also with my seagate. I learnt the hard way when my hard drive suddenly died once and I lost everything. That was about 7 years ago... way b4 DL all the designs. Hope your new keyboard will work gr8 and you get it soon. *4U ><>
Wow, katy, maybe the angels are logging-in to *Cute* as we speak, haha!!!
Oh katy, so sorry, may that be a lesson to you , not to drink and drive a computer, haha! I spilled a whole cup of herbal tea on mine once, so I quickly pulled the plug and beattery, tipped the laptop upsidedown and literally shook the tea out of it, then put it near the heater to dry - plugged it in, after a sleepless night, and it worked perfectly, that was about 18 months ago, and I'm still using it!!! How lucky was I! Hugs and a flower for you sweetie, and hope you're up and running with a new keyboard soon.
My husband dropped his in the tub once..playing games while soaking. We thought it got fried, but he got it going again after a while. Funny, he doesn't play on it while soaking any more.
katydid, you poor thing - I know that it will be hard - until you get a new one - but I bet you figure out a way to get online - just like you did for this posting. Hehehe! *4U
This laptop was resurrected from the graveyard and I am grateful for small favors. My sweetie spent hours downloading enough to get me on line. The laptop was taken to someone for repair and the person was unable to repair it so he erased everything. I think this tends to be a common practice.
My laptop needs to be hooked up to an (old) monitor, because it's in good working order except for the screen. Makes it less portable than I would like, but I'd rather buy embroidery supplies than a new laptop. :(
I like the convience of carring my lap top to the sewing room to sent to the macnine. If you couldn't see the screen,I guess it would be hard. How do you send your designs to your macnine?
oh, Kay you are so funny....do you think we could find a comparable computer to send along so we can "communicate" ?
It wasn't funny a week ago, but i have relaxed a little now. I promise to never take a glass of wine in my sewing room or coffee either.
Hopefully you get the new one soooon. Your designs should still be the way they were. :(
Katie, I don't think your keyboard will cause any problem with your designs, unless when you backed up it wasn't working. I spilled coffee on mine once, that wasn't a good thing, either. Now that I have the laptop, I keep *everything* far away from it. Except cats. It's full of cat hair, but I vacuum it out, hee hee hee. I think they like to sit on it cause it's warm. Best to you, Marji
Yes, mine a laptop also. I'm sure it has cat hair also. Maybe cat hair and wine caused fur balls.
St Peter will be sending us heavenly emails lol. Get another quick *4U
I had several working designs ready to go to my machine with hours of work redesigning and recoloring involved. I'll just have to put those projects on hold and hope for the best.
Presently on a borrowed computer. My sweetie has ordered a new keyboard from Dell. About a week ago, I couldn't log on and it went down hill from there. i just hope i haven't lost my designs. The last time I down loaded a back up was in March, so there is a costly gap there.
I even went to my daughter's home( 1 1/2 hrs away) to download designs on her computer, but son-in-law had a block for a usb stick. what a bummer!!
Awwww, Katy, too bad!!! Lucky they aren't really expensive. Too much talking to us, huh? But how are you talking to us with out a keyboard? Do you have the Star Trek computer? I really need one of those! Luv ya, Marji
Afraid not!! I think I spilled a little wine on the keyboard. Keyboards don't drink, you know.
