the orthopedic surgeon in the morning and see if she will need surgery. They put a moon type boot on her and gave her a quick lesson on using crutches. Her bedroom is upstairs so she will be dusting the stairs with her bottom. They told her scooting up on her backside is safer. So far the pain medication is not helping (she took it two hours ago). It's 4am so I'm going to try for some sleep ~ will be a long day tomorrow. I am just hoping that she will not need surgery.

Thank you. She hasn't seemed as needy today so the pain is subsiding some and she is coping better with the discomfort.

Anita, thank goodess that it was a clean break - take care of her needs - but don't over do - she also needs to learn how to deal with all this, too. I will be praying for all of you.

Only one of the three broken bones was a clean break. The other two breaks the separated bones are twisted and don't line up. The ER doctor indicated surgery to align them may be necessary. When the doctor says she can bear weight on her foot that will help a lot so we don't have to keep taking her crutches up and down the stairs for her. We have already had a discussion on driving with her left foot and she says you know I'm not that coordinated. It is also an hours round trip into town and I can't see two trips into town every day just to get her to work and home. She complained that her ribs were hurting and there is some bruising on her side. The good thing is this is an injury and not a health concern and I'm getting a change of pace from what I have been doing. Thanks for the prayers ~ we want to avoid surgery.

Sorry about this. Ask God and her angels to help her for a quick recovery.

Thank you. It's hard when your loved one is in such pain. She finally was able to get a few hours of sleep.

Thank you. I really need the hugs ~ she is running me ragged already. Went into town just to pick up some lounging pants with extra wide legs. Will start to take out the seam on a few of her work pants and sew in a temporary gusset.

Thank you. Will be hoping that by the time the swelling goes down that the bones that are not aligned will move into place.

Thank you. She was given a note not to go to work until August 17th one day before her birthday & had asked off for August 18th and 19th. Will see how her work takes this news.
