What an awful thing to have happen. I have never had this happen...however...I do not hoop any heavy fabrics I baste the fabric on top of the hoop and stabilizer. So far, I have had success this way. Hugs.
I too have had this happen, To correct my mishap, I just did an applique design over the mistake. I understand the frustration. "It's always when you need something to go perfect" ~Carolyn~
Well, since this post was a day ago, I'm sure you're feeling less stressed. This was kind of a fun read, although I know how it feels, always when you really really need it to be right, and you need it right now. But a hoop pop off? Really? Just...Sproing, pop off? I've never had that happen, and I thought I had just about every muck up in the book covered. Watch, now I've said it, it'll happen, hee hee hee. Hope today is better, hugs, Marji
I have had this happen and it is impossible(for me) to get it back exactly after. Frustrating.
This has never happened to me but I really sympathise with you. Hope you come right with this project.
what thickness of fabric did you have in your hoop...i dont know if this is any help but with towels or any thick item i just hoop the stabliser lay the item to be embroidered on top of the hoop centering it correctly and use a (free ) basting stitch to anchor the top fabric to the stablizer and i dont have any problem hope this is useful for you
I've had this happen more times than I can count. In fact, I WILL NOT embroider anything that is already made (like clothing or bags) because I don't want to ruin them. It has something to do with the thread getting all tangled up underneath and then starts pulling the fabric in to the needle hole. I just took my machine in for the third time and told them to either fix it or buy it back, because I'm tired of that. So yup, I feel your pain. Good luck with the next try. I've found that a disposable razor (the kind with the handle) does a fairly good job of removing the stitching to start over again. There are probably better ways, but I haven't found them yet. I cannot afford to buy an expensive shaver gadget to shave the threads off...
I have done this. If you mark the inside of the hoop all the way around with a quilting marker that is removed with water then you can line it up easier. A wet rag will remove the marker.
Well i find if the husq. sews it terrible i switch to my brother but if you only got one machine it could be many things and you likely have heard 100 answers hugs carolyn
I've had similar problems when I'm trying to finish something in a hurry. Now I try to plan ahead so I have plenty of time to redo if I mess something up.
I too have had this happen and I ended up ruining more than one design with this problem. Hugs, Mary
I hope it doesn't happen to me (touch wood), at least not yet.
Good luck.
Check to make sure your inner hoop was in right and in the right direction.
It is pretty easy to put the bottom of the inner hoop to the top and not to the bottom were it should be.
Also make sure your top hoop is pushed al the way down into the outer hoop and then tighten it up.
Was your fabric thick?
Perhaps just hooping the stabilizer and then put the fabric on top with some adhesive spray or bast it to the hooped stabilizer would work for you.
Sorry for you troubles. I'm glad you where able to come up with an alternative project in time to get it doen for her Birthday!! My granddaughters Birthday is 2 days before Christmas so we are celebrating it tomorrow. Happy Birthday to her!! :)
I feel your pain!!This has happened to me more than once and usually when I was under a deadline. Sorry and hope you were able to get your design done okay. I haven't figured out a solution to rehooping other than dumb luck!
Well I'm not gonna let it get me down, working with my daughter teaching her to sew. Less stressful... I think...LOL!
Sorry things are not going well today. Rest awhile and start fresh and I'm sure things will go better.
I have never had the hoop pop off but have gotten to the end of a project and had the machine eat the fabric or some other disaster. Never at the beginning always at the end. Taking a breather will help because you can't strangle the machine. LOL Sorry this happened.

Stitching out a butterfly for my girts skirt, shouldn't be two hard I hope...lol!
