Hey Kat, the only problem is, the picture you are showing is one dimension printing, it doesn't work the same way with 3 dimension embroidery.
When I send you what I have done, you will understand why it doesn't work, because the text is only .25 " high and I had to abbreviate and stagger each line to get it to fit and still look ok.
If I split it over two four inch hoops, admittedly we can fit more in, but the embroiderer is stuck with trying to align the two sections, frustrating to say the least.
If we had more time I could experiment more, for everyone, and I probably will because this poem means a lot to me, for very obvious reasons.
But I'll send you what I've done and it may get you out of trouble with your current urgent request. :-)
I'm thinking text #3 has the most promise to fit more in but I don't particularly like the O's.
Hugs n love, Meganne
Ok - so here I am with Meganne always coming to my rescue!!!! I need it in 4x4. I can test stitch it :) and I'm finally ok (yes I've had another headache - but I DO know whats causing them now!!!!!).... What I was looking for is something similar to the picture of the T-Shirt. What I actually wanted to do (last week when I maybe still had some time...) was put each piece in a quilt square (if it was already done anyway) and do them that way in a small lap quilt but I don't have the time to get a lap quilt done now. I think I'll just go with my original idea and make her a small prayer pillow to hold the book that we are making her. This is for a friend who is going to the Cancer Treatment Center (a different friend this time). She has 4 different types of cancer I think and so we all signed a prayer journal for her to take with her.
But I'd still be happy to test stitch it if you still wanted to do it. We have some really creative people around - I think it would be neat to create blocks with these sayings and then digitize them. I'm not creative - so I always look..... :)
My 8 year old nephew has Leukemia and if possable I would like the design also If you want to take a look at him and see some of his treatments with the chemo and how he is progressing hes on facebook Elijah York . Warning it will make you cry but he is a very tough little boy and he is fighting Thank You !
I am so sorry to hear about your nephew. I cannot say enough great things about the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. I have not been there but the ladies that I know that have been there are just raving about how they are being treated there. My husband also has a friend with a little girl about the same age who also has a type of Leukemia. It is very unfortunate that little people should have to deal with such grown up things :(
Sounds like Meganne is willing to do this for you. What a wonderful idea! I have a few friends who are in remission at the moment for breast cancer. I would love to do this on a pillow for each of them.
*4U and Hugs too!
Katrina What size hoop do you need it for?
I will create it, if there is someone who can test stitch it for me and give me feedback.
Can you break it down into 2 pieces so those of us with 4x4 hoop sizes can stitch it out as well and still be able to read it? Thank you so much!
*4U and Hugs too!
I think it would need to be far too small for 2 by 4x4 designs
There are few home embroidery machines that can handle tiny stitches successfully without pulling the bobbin thread to the top.
I'd like to also add the title to it,
"What Cancer Cannot Do"
Leave it with me and I'll see what I can do..
Cuties could always add a yellow daffodil or appropriate (cancer colour)ed ribbon design alongside the text.
I have never heard this before, but what a wonderful idea!! I'm going to save this list. It seems like there are way too many people in my life fighting cancer right now. Thank you for bringing this up. I also hope that it shows up digitized somewhere. That would be fantastic.
I have this on file somewhere but can't find it at the moment. Will keep looking. I actually have stitched it out for someone. It's in many colors.
Hi Katrina, I've never seen it digitised, but I had it in a card and gave it to my best friend just before she died. I love the words!
"It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot destroy peace
It cannot kill friendship
It cannot suppress memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot steal eternal life
It cannot conquer the spirit"
Love and blessings Chris
P.S. You should be able to do this in your free lettering on your sewing machine.
Chris I shared this in a friend's visitor's book and she got so angry she tore the page out of the book.
I thought it would give her courage and hope, but everyone takes things differently I guess.
hugs n love
That is so sad. I hope she got better and came to realize you only meant to be supportive of her.
It was for her husband who was a very dear friend and golfing buddy of mine.
Sadly he died from the brain tumour and I just realised I haven't played even a single game of golf since he passed.
