My 4000d has 2.8 million total, and about 38,000 on the service count. It was serviced a few weeks ago, and I've only done a few designs since getting it back.
Mine keeps track of the hours of use not the stitch count. Most companies do say that they are not meant to be used for a business. It could cancel the warrenty. Read the fine print!
I put 3 million stitches on my 780D in a year - never a problem with it freezing. My Quattro did freeze recently with only 1 million stitches but it had nothing to do with the stitch count - it just needed to be oiled. I get mine serviced every year. There is a service stitch count that is reset by the dealer when it is serviced = it just shows how long ago it was serviced - there is no magic number where it stops working. The total stitch count can't be reset by anyone - it is the number of stitches on the machine since day 1. You would want to get it serviced once a year or if it starts acting funny and makes funny noises, etc. My dealer said 3 million stitches in a year is not a huge number.
Thank you, that makes sense to me.
Do you know if it would be likely for the computer in the machine to give a false total number of stitches? When it went off it showed my total num. of stitches to be 15 million and THAT IS NOT RIGHT because I have pictures of all my designs and added up the stitch count.... only about a million.
Mine has over 15 million stitches. Check your warranty. It should tell you how often your machine needs to be serviced. I take my Innov-is4000D in every 3 million stitches or once a year. The 15 million stitches have been put on in three years. My dealer just told me that I have just gotten my machine broken in. It should be good for another 110 million stitches. That made me feel real good.
Thank you,
I think mine had about 15 million stitches, too. There is no way I've done that much.
I just went through my designs that I've done and I come up with about 700,000.

I forgot some things -- the count of stitches I've done in 9 months is close to 1 million -- not anywhere near 15 million.
