I don't think it's good to go more than about 15%.
thx for your comment, but I bought the designs from Star Trek and they are really to big. Mu husband really want a "little" beam-me-up badge you know :-) So I guess I'll have to get me a sort of PE design software.
Hi and welcome to Cute. Your embroidery machine will have a button to enlarge and decrease designs. I am not familiar with your machine but I do know it works in PES. Do you have any softwear for our machine. Brother machine owners often have PE design though there are other designs. If you have PE design I can give you the way you can increase and decrease designs yourself. Hope you can solve your problem. I see you come from Belgium
Welcome to Cute - you will get so much information from some wonderful people but beware it is very addictive. Sarah.
I purchased a design that would not fit, so I emailed the site where I bought it. They happily made it small enough for me. Perhaps you could do the same.
I see you have your answer. Welcome to cute. People here really help. I have learned something new everyday. DeVon
Machines let you change the size up to 20% (both larger and smaller), more and you need software. And the results really depend on the amount of detail: large designs usually have far more detail than smaller ones and that can be a problem when resizing. And satin stitches - so often used in badges - don't resize very well at all.
Sizeworks from Designer's Gallery-(babylock) does a great job of resizing. It recalculates the stitches.
•Instantly reduce embroidery designs by 50% or enlarge them to 200%
•Resize designs to fit the maximum limits of your hoop with a single click
•Automatically rotates designs for best fit in the hoop
I have only had one design in 10 years of using it that didn't come out right.
Jo
Check out all their other software.
Thanks for the tip.I'll have a look.
by the way do you have letter Alphabet letters A-L for me ? (just started to download from M)
Sorry, sharing is a big no-no. I keep a folder of partial alphabets that get added to now and then depending on where they are from, and you never know when you might need just that one letter. Check out postings on the Freebie tab, where some great people compile daily lists of what is now posted. And bookmark those sites that you start collecting from and just visit every day to see.
Welcome!
If you decrease the size of as design, you just make the stitches smaller and there is a limit how many stitches can fit into a small space! Enlarging a design just stretches it out with bigger stitches. 20% in either direction is really the limit but it may be less for some types of desingn
ok thanks. It is just I have bought some designs of Star Trek and the badge-desgins are really too large (if you compare them with the movie)
It depends on the software. Mine reduces density and lowers stitch count when I make designs smaller and Increases the stitches when I make it bigger.
Generally, designs won't stitch out very well if decreased too much. By the way, I have the same machine - and I love it!!!! Good luck!
Okay, nice someone to ask some things. But do you know IF it is possible de decrease and how ?
If your instruction book doesn't have the info... go on line to Brother and you can find almost anything you need to know about your machine.
