Thank you Suzanne; our DIL and grand-kitty are here in central VA with us now, as they live on a beach island in NC. Son is traveling home from Brazil on Sunday. She left the 3 story condo without boarding up the windows, so I'm worried about storm damage as she's just 2 blocks from the ocean.
Best of luck to you Northerners. When I lived in NYC as a child, we never evacuated although we were encouraged to do so, during frequent storms. We lived I block from the beach but the tide never brought the water (quite) to the house. I hope that the storm downgrades and does not gain strength. I cannot imagine NYC evacuating and the subways closing.
God bless you all.
Hugs,
Jacqueline

They had North Carolina and New York in the news this morning - stay SAVE.
Prayers for everyone's safety. We live at the Jersey shore, and expect a visit from Irene. Survived the earthquaque this week too. What's happening? Stay safe, and be well!
Anybody in the east coast ready for for a Hurricquaque Party?
Hugs and blessings, Rachel

Hi Suzanne - thoughts for your safety, and for others I know who live on the east coast, are being sent your way.
I do hope that past devastation from tornadoes isn't repeated. I'll be watching the news.
AlmaG.
Thank you! I pray there will be no loss of life. We have had a good amount of time to prepare. Suzanne
Pray that you will be safe.
I'm in VA and preparing for Irene. Even did some designs for gal in church named, IRENE!!!!!!!!
Pray for safety for all on the East coast with Irene coming and just getting over an earthquake.
Praise Jesus we had no damage!!!!!!1
Hope the same for Irene....No damage. Be safe! We are up the coast a little further. Suzanne
Dear Suzanne, I pray that you and all our Cute family who are in the path of this Hurricane will be safe. Our weather patterns are certainly all over the place, keep safe. Love and blessings Chris
Good luck to you and everyone who has to deal with this horrible weather.
This sounds kinda petty, but be sure that your equipment is on a UPS or unplugged for the storm so that you don't get it zapped and lose it that way. That is advice for everyone here for every reason.
I have back up batteries attached to the machines but I also unplug them when I an finished doing my embroidery. Can't be too careful! Expensive machines! Suzanne
Looks like the prediction is that it will miss Georgia. Maybe we will get some rain from it. I'd be up for that. Praying that all are safe and unharmed.
It looks like they are predicting some pretty rough seas on the East Coast. I will be praying for the safety of you all
prayers for all these people , hope and pray everybody will be safe.
Will be praying that everyone in the path of this hurricane will leave those areas.
I've been watching the path of this storm and it looks like it may affect many people. Sending prayers out to all in it's path that it will slow down and little damage with no lost lives. Everyone stay safe. God Bless
I am hoping and praying that Irene does not do the damage they are prediciting. I am praying for all of the people in the path of the storm that God will give them all safety. Hugs, Mary
Prayers are with all of you staying in those areas.
Stay safe. Love Marie
They say that it could be worse than Agnes was for us. I just hope the power stays on and everyone stays safe. Both my brothers and families live about 20 minutes from Rehoboth so I am particularly worried for them.....Stay safe everyone and please take precautions.
May through November is a long time for a season, let alone hurricaine season. Having lived in Florida it's just part of living there. Irene is suppose to be a pretty strong one. I do pray you weather it well and get back to embroidery soon! Yes, prayers for all in her path!
Hope everyone gets as prepared as possible. I just sent text to my daughter to see what her situation is where she lives - Barbados - hurricanes usually go around them for some reason and they get the edge of wind and rain and that's it. Hopefully it is the same this time.
This is going to be a far reaching one as it is really expected to hit a fair ways in in Canada and not just on the coast.
You keep safe!!
This doesn't sound too good. Be prepared and stay safe. Praying that it will not to be too strong.
Suzanne, I am hoping it blows over - but sounds like it will be hitting alot of the east coast and it doesn't sound good, either - take care of you and yours - we will be praying for you each.
Thank you. We were due. The last major one was Bob 20 years ago. We should be OK. Suzanne
I always dread the start of hurricane season. Being in N/W AL we only get rain and wind from the edges but I feel for those near the coasts. Memories of Camille in Biloxi, Andrew in FL and Katrina in New Orleans make everyone edgy. During Apr and May I felt like AL was about to be wiped off the map by tornadoes. It seems to me that our weather is getting more extreme each year. Very unsettling.
I was through Hackleburg, AL a few weeks ago and was amazed at the devastation. Very few landmarks left to even tell you where you are. It looked to me like there was more than one tornado go through Hackleburg. One through the town and another just south of the town. The damage path was very wide too.
Prepare for Irene and stay safe everyone.

We too live on the eastern seaboard. Although further south and not in Irene's direct path. We are praying for all of those in the pathway. God Bless and stay safe.
Where in the State do you live? There are alot of Cute Members around here! I am in the Atlanta area and so is Katydid. Lillian is from Macon and is now just across the border in Al, jrob is up above us in the N. Ga mountains and there are still a few more in the state. We should all try to get together sometimes! Lillian has her hands full now but she does have family here also. Lillian and I grew up in Macon and even went to the same High School but she was just far enough ahead of me that we never met.
With the earthquakes and then the storm brewing, we could have a rough time in store for all of us. I am hoping there will not be much damage with either but you never know! Linda
Best Wishes and safety. We have family with a beach
house on NC coast and hoping the best for them too.
Hugs
