Has anybody heard how our East Coast Cutie Members are going?

Have any been hit by the hurricane?
Are your East Coast family members safe and OK?

Hope all cuties and their families and friends are safe from Irene & her friends (tornadoes).
I live about 10 minutes away from the Jersey shore.
We had heavey winds and lots of rain Saturday night. No power loss until after the hurricane left, only for two hours.
I was ouside last night in the middle of the storm,
my husband forgot to bring my hibiscus in, so I had to rescue it.(sily me) It was so nice out there regardless of the wind pressure. I was all wet. I ran my fingers through my head and when I woke up this morning I had the most beautiful curls on my head.
Again, I keep my thoughts and prayers for the safety of all cuties and their pets, family & friends, and everyone in the East coast.
Hugs and Blessings,
Rachel

Thank you to everyone who has reported their news for other Cuties to read. I understand the tropical storm is still raging - that's bad enough for those people in its path. I'm so glad that ladybugz47 family, and other Cuties' close family members, are all right.
Those people in the affected areas will have much mopping-up to do and I hope they can do it without finding too much damage.
It's times like this that we see the strength of the human spirit shining victorious above adversity.
Please keep us posted about news of Cuties and their families.

Here in Montreal we have had heavy winds and heavy rain most of the day. Power has gone off two or three times but come back on after about an hour. Noticed that they were only predicting it to hit Quebec Monday, but if has been around with a vengence most of the day today (Sunday)...Will no doubt be a lot of flooding again when a lot of the Eastern section of Quebec is just getting out from under the spring flooding...Further east in the Maritimes Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland are not looking good for tomorrow....prayers for safety for all cuties in the path of Irene...hugs x0x0x0

I'm in the middle of Maryland. We did fine. Lot's of wind and rain, downed tree limbs and leaf covered lawn. After things dry up a bit we'll have lots of limb carrying to do. We are fortunate to have not lost power. Those closer to the shore may have a lot more damage.

With 4 million customers without power I don't think we are going to hear very soon. It is amazing how much dependency we have on electricity. My sister in Connecticut send a short text letting me know she is OK but no power there.

My grandson lives in a high rise right on Daytona Beach Shores..... He said the water came right up to the edge of their retaining wall and one more inch it would have been over it. He is from Ohio and said if that was a cat. 1 he doesn't want to see one any worse!
Grandson in S. Carolina is fine.... just a lot of rain.

I was, but it was a tropical storm when it came through Dominican Republic, some branches and back yard clean up, since i live next to the ocean the salt was everywhere i spent all morning long yesterday washing windows, walls and floor to get rid of the salt, some plant are kind of dead, i think it is because of the wind and salt, we were two days without power, and this was just as a tropical storm!!! Now everything is back to normal, i pray for every one that is in its path to be safe.

My daughter lives in Maryland. A tree fell on their house last night and crashed through right over their bed! Fortunately they hadn't gone to bed yet and were in the basement. Luckily it missed both babies rooms....THANK YOU LORD. Lots of damage and then water damage on top of it. Yuk. Power has been out for about 15 hours now......

I just saw on NBC an hour ago (9 AM Eastern) that Irene is now downgraded to a tropical storm, no longer considered a hurricane. Good news, but not if it is coming your way. It is still packing a wallop!! I live in North East Georgia and we did not even get a drop of rain from all or it. Kay

I am watching CNN News at the moment and it looks as if the flood water is receding. This is great news. Hope all are safe and dry. Sarah.

I have been praying on and off all night for the folks on the East Coast. I have a lot of family and friends there. I hope our Cute friends who are affected are able to check in with someone so we know they are safe. I know this will be difficult foe at least a week for many because of the widespread power outages.

My BIL works in manhattan financial district and lives in New Jersey near the moutains but his MIL
has a beach home in New Jersey so I'll find out later what happened.
I have been checking on and off at CNN.
It sure is wild weather and to see Time Square empty
is very strange.

The Suns online paper has the latest on Irene. Check out the young lad whos holding onto the railings at some beach. Apparently he jumped in after this was taken. :O Muppet
