Massive flooding in these parts and apparently the power back home won't be on again until next Sunday! Neighbor says he has 8 ft of water in his basement. Hmmm my house is on the market - wonder if I could list it as having an indoor swimming pool!

But, hey, it could be worse, like not being able to get into Cute! Now, that IS a catastrophe! ;-D Thanks to all of you wonderful Cuties who sent prayers and well wishes! I'm very thankful! Hugs to you all! Deb

I've come in late on your post so I can only echo what everyone else has said, thank God you are safe and still have your sense of humour.
It's really no good crying because you will only end up with red eyes, a runny nose and a headache, which would only make dealing with everything so much harder.

I truly believe HE gave us all a sense of humour as a coping mechanism to help us get through all the traumas life throws at us.

So hang in there, keep laughing and looking for that silver lining.
Your basement probably needed a good clean out, right?
Hugs and prayers, Meganne

HAHAHA, yep, that Fall housecleaning has been accomplished!
And I truly do believe He has a plan for me, whatever it is.
Thanks so much, Meganne for your thoughts and prayers.

Dear Deb,

So glad to see you are o.k. It's good to keep your sense of humour in these circumstances. Good luck with selling your home too, I hope it hasn't been damaged by all the aftermath of Irene. Love and blessings Chris

Thanks so very much, Chris. Would you believe, my realtor sent an email saying someone wants to see the place TODAY?
I wonder if they'll be coming by row boat... ;-D Hugs, Deb

Thanks for letting us know you are fine.
Be careful what you think what might happen next.
We had locusts ..... and then came the mice!!!!!
Locust bodies painted our car with sticky goo and the mice invaded my lovely warm, clean sewing room.

eeeeewwwww okay, no locust, please! And mice would mean hopping on a chair, and I'm too old and stiff for that ;-D

I am truly impressed with your composure and apparent calmness. Good luck with your house and your situation, etc. I know a lot of people are in a tough spot right now!! I keep wishing that an airplane will use my house to cushion the fall (no one at home of course) so that I can get something that I can get around in better...no stairs. Maybe your insurance company will buy up your house and you won't have to go through the pain of trying to sell it?? :) Good luck and keep up the positive spirit!!

Be careful what you wish for, you might get it and you might be home at the time.

Thanks! I have to agree with meganne, but it sure is tempting to think about something taking out the place so you can finally move on...

Glad you are safe, that is the most important thing, my daughter lives in Maryland and she had to throw everything from her fridge because they have no power, she has a baby and she is cooking on her gas, charging her cell phone in the car to keep in touch with everyone because the phones are gone, but you know what, God has kept you all safe that is the most important thing, my prayer is with all those that have lost their loved ones and their homes. Thanks, Geeta. Oh, my, what a time your daughter must be having. No power and a baby to tend to. I'll add her to my prayers.

You are keeping your sense of humor amongst all of this. It is heartbraking to see all the devastation Irene has caused. Best in all of this "You are save". Please stay that way.

Thanks! To tell you the truth it was a toss up between laughing or crying. In one week I had an earthquake, a hurricane and a flood! I'm expecting the locust any time now! Hugs and *'s
