If you want to actually digitize designs yourself, I believe a program called Sophie Sew is free, but I think you have to work online. If you want to resize designs that you already have, or change the format of those designs, there are several free programs available, like Wilcom True Sizer and Tajima, but you can't make your own designs with these. Embird has a free download to try their digitizing program for 30 days, but I don't believe you can save the designs, I'm not sure about that one. And you have to purchase it if you want it, it's not free. But I've heard it is rather inexpensive, depending on the different modules you purchase, and what you want to do with it. Good luck with your search, perhaps someone else will have more information or advice for you. I have Janome's Digitizer Pro, so I'm not too familiar with the free ones. Hugs, Marji

It may be one of those programs that you have to be on the internet in order to use it. Hopefully, some other cutie can clarify that though. I have not used it so I can't offer any advice about it's capabilities. The website that offers it is very reputable so that means a lot. It would be an excellent way to get started digitizing for only $14.95 in shipping and handling. There is no charge for the program.
Deborah is a very well known educator so you could email her to ask questions before trying it.
